while claiming to be against hate and intolerance.

They are actually against our Constitution......especially free speech. Countless examples adding up day after day.

The progressive left = anti-America

Yet you provide 0 examples.
To list all obvious examples might well provide a post that would require hours to read it all. Just start with Obama himself and the executive orders that have been shown, by many, for years to be unconstitutional (and, in some cases, acknowledged to be so by Obama himself prior to his taking the action). The Dems speak out against the 1st. and 2nd. amendments and talk about a "need" for the Constitution to be re-written to make it 'more modern'. Read, loss ten and pay attention (without the colored Dem glasses on) and you too will see the examples you request. (Note00I have a hunch your response above was as a diversion and not a sincere request for information).

It's not even necessary at this point. If you don't think like the liberal, you automatically are to be shunned. Mozilla CEO, how many boycotts has Media Matters sponsored... 57 flav.. genders or else, etc. They absolutely KNOW they are right (but they're not).

Both parties are going that direction. The national platform is trying to drive local politics. That's why more and more people are leaving both parties - the fringes are trying to drive them away from the middle.

Maybe you should read the constitution. There is nothing that protects you from boycotts or "shunning."

You have a right to not be prosecuted by the government for what you say or believe. The first amendment doesn't protect you from your employer or from customers you hope to have.

I suppose you guys were also very upset when Trump threatened the NFL or has tried to attack Amazon based on things they have said.

Hello, and welcome -- your thoughts on this matter mesh right in with mine. need to get rid of lobbyists and and install termlimits. Those two actions, in my opinion would solve more than a few problems.

There STILL hasn't been a single example of a violation of the 1st amendment given in this thread.

I’m really not understanding....if someone protests a speaker that offers a true perspective not solely derived from outright hate, that person isn’t liberal, imo. Does the right have to identify with every crackpot, or immature douchebag that claims to be in that camp as well?

It’s like when conservatives are called racist or sexist. There are plenty of rightwingers claiming women should stay in the kitchen and STFU, and plenty that advocate for a return to pure white nationalistic pride.....yet calling the entire ideology out for those views is foolish. Many on this board made that clear to me. Yet here they are doing the same.

If there are plenty, then you can provide plenty of examples?

Don't act like this is just a small problem from a minority of people on the left. As others have highlighted this need to shut down conservative thought from the left is widespread from individual liberals to social media to liberal organizations to college campuses/professors to David Hogg to entertainment to even some government representatives.

Through it all there are some good liberals like Dave Rubin who spend their time fighting back against the left's ignorance and hatred instead of acting like it's not a problem. If you want your Democrat party to succeed and make America a better place then you would be doing the same thing.

It is exactly what this thread is about. Most of the examples that have been given as to why liberals hate the 1st amendment have actually been examples of people exercising their free speech to protest something that they don't like.

If you guys really think that liberals hate the 1st amendment than I suppose you all will be donating to the ACLU to help their battle!

This entire thread is an attack on true free speech

Wow....

Speaking out against the liberals shutting down conservative views is an attack on free speech? Lol!!

As I said, posting plenty of examples would be ignored. Continue turning a blind eye and blaming the victims. It's the progressive liberal way.

There are definitely people who think that free speech shouldn't include speech that might offend some people. We've seen that play out on many college campuses. I don't agree with that perspective. I don't think it's a majority view on the left, but I do see it from the left, mostly from younger folks.

In the first example I posted, even some of the most staunch liberals admit there is a problem among liberals. But continue to ignore.

In the first example I posted, they say (and it's true) the college faculties preach it. They are filling our children's heads with it...and these are very liberal talking heads admitting as much.

only time I would ever NOT condemn the blocking of speakers, is if it was done out of safety for all students. I won’t, however, condemn students protesting speakers that stand in contrast to their own ideals.....that’s free speech too.

And it’s not as large a problem as the rightwing media makes it out to be, imo. I also believe that a college campus belongs to the students that attend, the faculty that work there, and to a degree the people that live in the town. Alumni should always play a role, but it’s up to the students to determine the atmosphere of their own institution. I’d hope the majority of students on campuses welcome perspectives and challenge those views in open debate.

Of course it's their right.....however, it shows the mentality of liberals.

"Our way is the only way and we don't want to hear your side of things"

Why not let a conservative speaker give an opinion? Why not let them speak?

Good, honest, debate is what fixes problems and issues in our country.

Shutting one side down creates a greater divide and only expands problems and issues. Solving nothing. Creating anger.

I agree when we are talking about Condelezza Rice of course. But giving a platform to hate is a grey area, imo. I’d let em speak, then tear them up in the Q&A, but others don’t want their institutions to be associated with that type of hate.....not crazy
