A 1-11 S Alabama played us closer than we played Wisconsin. That was a one score game going into the 4th quarter

you may as well give it up now. I don’t give a crap what you see or think. I don’t only look at the black and white score. I seen a Husker team that didn’t stand a chance, was going to get blown out and would be able to do a thing against Wisconsin...come in and put up dam near 500 total yards against a top 4 defense. The only issue we had was in the red zone. For some dam reason we couldn’t score the TDs or FGs we needed. How many times did we get into the red zone and come up with 0 points? If we finish those drives, we win the game by 7 points at least. Again, I see things differently. I look at the game as a whole...not just the black and white score. So again, you may as well give up. I’m never going to see it your way.

On another thread I produced a list of several other schools that also had games for the taking, but failed to do so.

In short, I don't think that means very much.

Yes it does, it shows those teams were right there in the games and with a little different luck, could have won the games just as easily lost them. Team as that are that close to turning the corner, are usually the ones who do the soonest.

Wisconsin was also 1 or 2 coaching decisions away from possibly having another TD or 2 on the board.

You make a very compelling case. Has anyone petitioned the big ten offices to see if we can be declared the victor?

I never said we should have a victory or that we should have won. I said for the most part we hung in there. I seen why you didn’t think we did and I explained what I seen that made me see it differently. I love how you put words in someone’s mouth just to try and flip it on them. Pretty elementary ( or middle school, whichever) of you...lol. I didn’t do that to you, so I respectfully ask you not to do it to me. Let’s keep as legit as possible, what we are actually saying with out twisting it up. Me and you disagree. I felt we hung in there with Wisconsin and you don’t. End of story.

fair enough

is it ok to put words in your mouth for grammar purposes? ;)

You and I disagree.

If it floats your boat to screw someone, by all means I guess. Sure I screw my grammar up here and there due to my dyslexia. I guess if it helps you feel better about yourself, go for it. I bet your one of those that make fun of a mentally challenged person at sportings event (or anywhere) aren’t you? I’ll chose not to do it...if that’s fine with you? It’s a football message board. Thank God it’s not high school or college classes lol.

and that joke has taken its toll. I seen it none stop around here. Someone disagrees with someone else. They take it personally and next thing you know they are making it personal, or poking fun at grammar issues (without asking or knowing why said person might make those mistakes). See even now your poking fun again. You’re definitely someone that makes fun of mentally challenged kids. Sure, maybe I’m taking it a bit far. But that’s why I chose to ignore it and just move along. ;)

Plus side, we are on the same side, we are both Husker fans (well I assume you are anyways, I even defended you as a Husker the other day).

Isn't Frost the worst coach since Jennings? Stats say yes. Hope he can do a 180 and get this team headed in the right direction. Next season can't get here fast enough.

Reread what I said. Frost certainly isn't the worst coach at NU nor the worst coach ever.

He may turn out to be the worst at NU since Jennings, but right now his career isn't complete.

No one is say he is awesome and doesn't need to change.

I agree with that. No none knows right now if Frost will succeed or fail here. Again, Kirk Ferentz and Barry Alvarez also struggled in the beginning of their rebuilds. Both going 4-18 or 4-19 their first 2 seasons Scott Frost has faired better then both of them thus far.

You make your own luck. Or in our case, the coaches find ways to lose games. It isn’t luck that causes Chinander to pee down his leg late in games. And it’s not luck that forces Frost to curl up in a little ball late in games.

As Bill Parcells stated, you are what your record says you are. And in Frost’s case, he’s 9-15 with 3 losing seasons out of 4 as a HC

may I change one thing you said, our team finds a way to lose. There has been times it’s was on the coaches and other times when it was on our players. So again, our team (coaches and players alike) find away to lose.

and hey, Barry Alvarez (and Kirk Ferentz at Iowa) was 4-18 his first two seasons and we all seen how that played out. He turned Wisconsin into a power house. The first few years of rebuild means jack. And I mean a complete rebuild, not a team full of talent that just needed a legit coaching. We aren’t one of them. Far from it. Scott Frost has to rebuild us from the ground up. Exactly like Barry Alvarez had to do with Wisconsin when he took them over.

I know this is small potatoes, but two areas where we improved were in penalties and turnovers.

We were 21 in the nation in penalties per game at just over 5. 20th in penalty yards per a game. I didn’t look up 2018, but that seems to me like substantial improvement.

Turnover we were in the 60’s nationally, but we did manage to break even in TO margin which again I believe is improvement.. I think we’ve been negative the last few season.

Not a lot to hang your hat on, but those are two areas where people voiced concerns last season that have have improved this season. Take care of the little things and the bigger ones will follow.

Barry Alvarez - Rose Bowl year 4 - top 10
Kirk Ferentz - Orange Bowl - year 4 - top 10 (Ferentz was top 10 in years 5 and 6 as well)

those coaches have been thrown out a lot with each successive loss .. hope Frost can match this as no one will care about the first 3 years if he does - will be interested in the narrative if we aren't having top 10 seasons in the next couple of years, however

I'm 100% for giving Frost the life of his contract .. will see if can match Ferentz's accomplishments as this board has been pretty consistent that Ferentz and Iowa are a very, very , very low bar
