I have been saying this. Run the ball for 2.5 yards/ play. You never have to passI think they should run Devany's offense minus the forward pass. Don't worry, I watch alot of football.
Repost this again when Frost has adequate talent at positions to run his attack.is too many plays by design leave someone unblocked. An early sack by number 29 is a perfect illustration. I don't believe you can do that consistently against teams with good defensive speed.
For those of us that witnessed this, the Frost offense in year one at UCF was predictable, not fast liked it was advertised, the passing game consisted of a lot of bubble screens. To top it off: Frost started a freshman QB that could not hit hardly any target he aimed for.
I was thinking "this is oregon's offense?". Ugh.
We saw some in-game coaching mistakes too.
Year one was not impressive, and had reservations after the embarrassing bowl loss to arkansas st.
Then came the second year.
Nebraska will get better but year one is not the time for judgement. A loss is a loss no matter the score.
Let his offensive system evolve, upgrade the talent level, let the QB gain experience.
What I hate about this offense is the OL constantly getting blown up every single play! Take that away and we might actually have something.

Many of the sacks were due to miscommunication of the O line and between line and backs. Its one thing to get your *** kicked, another to get it kicked not blocking the right guy.
That to me is a coaching failure. It shouldnt take three years to learn pass protection assignmemts.

I'll repost this any time I want. Perhaps you would prefer a two or three win season in 2018.
Catch50, there’s a reason you have over 13,000 posts and less than 200 likes. Your posts are crap.

How do the posts up here affect the number of wins in 2018?
Try 1 or 2, and I'm fine with it. Eradicate the nonsense, get rid of it, once and for all.
There is no turning back, or hearkening back to a bygone era of triple option power football. Not going to happen.
The problem with board likes this is everyone doesn't read all posts. I DID say on a previous post or two that I don't want ANY option football.

Frost will never win anything with this offense? Really? He’s too stupid to know this I guess? Why the heck are we paying him $35 million for this offense if he’ll never win with it? Guaranteed...
Frost is a smart guy and a winner. He will evolve this offense however he needs to in order to make it successful in the B1G.
And I for one will not lose sleep over a whiny baby who can’t stand this offense.
You’ve said your piece. Now go away. The last thing we need is week after week of this same crap from you. The team will improve in time. Somehow, I don’t think you will.
So what system do you like for Nebraska?
I said yesterday. Smashmouth like the '90's Nebraska without any option. Offensive linemen love smash-mouth so maybe our recruiting in this area could improve.
I guess that translates to what Riley was trying to do (pro-style).
I like it with NFL caliber talent, but at Nebraska, it's too hard to recruit 4 and 5 star WR from the SE and get 4 and 5 star pro-style QB. Just my opinion.

Riley was too dependent on the pass.
In another one of your many threads about this you asked for teams that have played for NC’s or made the playoff using an offense like ours. I have you a list of many teams that use a no-huddle spread like: Auburn, Oregon, Ohio St, Oklahoma and UCF. Outside of Alabama, can you name one team that has used a smash mouth pro-style offense to win big in the last decade or so?
I really don’t see how playing like Iowa and Minnesota will get us anywhere.

Agree 100%. In fact I firmly believe that is what defined TO, he was an innovator and cutting-edge. And that’s what we need Frost to be. Three yards and a could of dust, no passing game, no threat of the QB run, is not. There are some aspects of that they do that we can copy, but we have to be at the cutting edge in terms of innovation to win a national title again. Most teams that win national title (virtually all of them) are in the prime recruiting states or one away from those spots.
We aren't any of those things and are closer to Minnesota than we are to Auburn in terms of recruiting base. So.. we need an edge

So you want Iowa and Wisconsin?
You are never going to win consistently without a pass/option threat; this isn’t mighty mites here. Executed properly the option game neutralizes at least one defender on every play taking away the defenses natural one man advantage they get when the QB isn’t a threat to run.
So you want Iowa and Wisconsin?
Did you ever hear of the pass/run threat?
