It’s the one’s that never reached their ceiling that seem to hurt the most.

It all sucks but with how the portal is now I'm not going to lose too much sleep as you have the opportunity to pull in just as or more productive players at these positions that are instinctual.

This really hurts.
Why? He didn't do much of anything this year and didn't seem to develop. His brother also had a history of portal and being a little bit angry. S&C hasn't been his friend yet and to me he is kind of a non-contributor.

Well, we have to get the roster from 145 to 105. Is each one going to be funny and a Greek tragedy? Are you still bitter and angry about other things in our country? Laughing
It's all quite hilarious at this point. Only real reason to keep coming back until Rhule is inevitably fired.

You want to get down from 145 to 105 without losing anybody that's currently on the depth chart.

A majority of the players are walkons that don't contribute much.

1.5 sacks in 2 years? how can we possibly make up for that production?

I'm well aware of that. But losing our DC probably didn't help with losing some guys on D. It's the current portal era in which we live. Do I like it? No. You deal with it and try to get the best players you can.

He didn't make the jump i hoped but he does have the measurables and put it in tape last year.

Was talking last night with a parent of a recent ex husker about how him and lenhardt didn't do much this year after looking like big time up and comers last year.

Just get rid of everybody and leodisflowers will be happy. Don't even need a roster. I advocate for Kong's air defense strategy against Iowa.

Agree. There were a lot of those dudes that all regressed. Kai Wallin looked like he had potential as well and then they all went backwards. Is that a Pot Roast problem? TW problem? Who knows, at this point though if you don't want to be here, see ya. This is a new era and bringing someone new in and giving them a shot can't be any worse than someone who didn't do much. Hopefully we just go try and get winners.

Wrong, there are a lot of kids on the roster I really like. RVP, Kai Wallin, Keona Davis, Jacory Barney, Willis M IV, and I can continue to go on. Stop being so soft. Everyone who has left has done nothing for Nebraska that has moved the needle.

Ideally you'd lose players from the bottom third of that 145 rather than the top third.

He earned significant playing time as a true freshman. He has talent. He's exactly the type of player we need to come along if we ever have a hope of sniffing a playoff.

Expected so much more from him. He had solid DTs that required some attention, so he wasn’t exactly being doubled all of the time. Still, would like to have kept him on board.

Clearly something was missing or wrong this year.
Rhule commented on an issue with his taking care of his business earlier this fall. He was pretty cryptic about what was going on but there was definitely a problem of some kind. That said, his on field production doesn't look like something we can't replace.

The player has to be committed to being the best he can be too. Not sure what happened earlier this year, but something clearly was amiss. The 4 game appearances might indicate he told them he wanted to redshirt.

So far I haven't seen us lose projected starters from the defense. Losing some guys when White left was inevitable but I think Princewill was gone regardless.

Indicates he was probably looking for an out for awhile. In any case, the rate at which some of our most promising young players slip out of the program isn't a positive sign.

Look at the depth chart. Gbayor and Princewell were projected starters.

It's not just us. Teams have lost starters to the portal in what appear to be lateral moves. Something happened with Princewill. I'm not all that surprised that he's going or that something would happen with a 20 year old college student making him need a fresh start.

Probably not. Gbayor was losing snaps to a freshman. Princewill maybe if his head was right, but the fact that he only played in 4 games doesn't scream future starter. Something was going on with him and we'll probably never know what it was.

Adapt to the new world 1/3 of our team won’t be here next year. Other schools will have a ton of talent hitting the portal too. This year is going to be bonkers for transfer portal and many will be left without a seat in the P4. We also don’t know the conversations taking place behind closed doors regarding their potential positions next year. To act like this is a Rhule thing is absurd.

That I'm not being stupidly dismissive about everything doesn't make me soft. Princewell is in that same conversation as those guys and maybe with an even higher upside than most. Also wouldn't be surprised if 1 or more from your list ended up moving on as well. You want talented young players on the roster, and I do as well. Well, one of those just left in Princewill.

Princewill is a very talented guy but he clearly had an issue that was keeping him off the field. He's more physically talented than Wallin IMO. We just need to wish him well and move on. We have guys ready to step in right away for his spot.

Sad to see him go. I grew up Big Red and have always believed our guys are better because they wear red. However my opinion on this has changed since I became a day 1 season ticket holder for the Vegas Golden Knights (first time I ever was STH for a pro team). VGK Management is not sentimental about players. Built their franchise with Marc Andre Fleury and then sent him away for a bag of pucks. Had a Conn Smythe winner who they refused to re-sign on his demanded terms 13 months later. Every time a player who was a fan favorite got jettisoned, us fans boo hoo. . . . Except management has been right every time (except 1) when they moved on from a player.

If these guys want to move on, I wish them the best but immediately am more focused on who we can get who is better. That is where we are at and where college football is today. Princewill is a good player with lots of possible upside. But there is or will be a better player at his position in the portal. Tell me how you intend to make us better.

Well then why the **** didn't he produce this year. If he jumped in the portal after his frosh year I might agree with your concern. He might have upside, but he did absolutely nothing for us this year. Sounds like he has issues and doesn't want to be here. See ya. I'd rather go try and backfill than deal with a wildcard who did absolutely nothing to help a very mediocre team.

Ty Robinson sucked in his second year. Get rid of every player who has a bad year and you soon have nothing left.
