The 2nd and 3rd period in the Olivieri match makes people seriously question whether folkstyle is really better than freestyle. So boring, there was basically 0 action. The Lehigh kid didn’t event attempt to score when he was on top, he just rode on Olivieris back

Clark advances. Funky scramble in the first period, might have got a little lucky but otherwise looked solid

Desantis likely advancing as well

True, but on the flip side, I dislike the silly freestyle rules that award points for just rolling around and maybe some control.

Peterson somehow already advanced by fall. They started the match before the round of 32 ended I guess.

Shawver gave up a terrible reversal with a few seconds left and almost got pinned. Saved by the bell.

Cheltsos is the first to go down. Didn’t see the match but got shut out 2-0 by a guy from Presbyterian

Fongaro was up 1-0 late 3rd. I put my head down to see any mat assignments and all of a sudden he was down 6-1

Yea tuff one he had riding time and kid went in for a takedown and instead of giving up the TD he tried to funk roll out of it and gave up 4 backs.

Hunter Mays destroyed NJ champ Ty Whalen 12-4

I know there’s a Howell/Rider pipeline but man Mays is going to be a stud. That’s a kid I wish we could have landed.

O’Neill looks exactly the same as last year

Gassed early, holding on for dear life after grabbing a leg and going flat. Lucky to escape with a SV win

Peterson tied 1-1 late 3rd. Not sure if he got the riding time point. It’s close

He didn’t but it doesn’t matter as he gets the late takedown. He’s high energy, high stamina. I like Shawver a lot and think he’s underrated but Peterson definitely has the higher upside, which is crazy considering who Shawver has beaten. Shawver also advances

Peterson wins 3-1….Peterson was insanely strong in high school, it showed in that match
