McCabe has missed too many shots though. He’s 3-15 from field. That’s terrible. He now shoots more Han anybody we have. He also now plays more minutes than anybody we have. Terrible shooting display by McCabe. He’s building a house with all those bricks. He has 1 assists and 2 turnovers. Knapper looks rusty after missing time but just had a 3. Need rhythm again. Next game he will be better. He needs to shoot it every time he gets it.
Yet McCabe has 10 points 3 assist 2 steals. Knapper is not rusty. He just can't play defense. Has 2 turnovers and can't pass.

WVUALLEN on a witch hunt against Knapper. That’s obvious. He was rusty after missing 2 games.
Lamont West is dreadful. Huggs has to tell him to grad transfer. Doomes is a guard that can’t shoot. He won’t score against starters in Big 12 games. He drove the ball in garbage time against backups. Lamont West is first to go though. Just terrible.

McCabe can’t play defense. He never will. He scored half of his points against backups in garbage time getting blown out playing more minutes than anybody. He only had 3 assists, 4 turnovers. McCabe needs to finish season strong next couple games. A really bad game won’t be good.

Got pulled after the rocket he sent downfield over an open Harler. Same on the inside when he threw it into the stands. He's trying to be McCabe. He no McCabe.

McCabe poor defense had 3 steals and held James to 7 points. You can't get assist if the guy you pass to misses the shot.
Tell Pride I said they have child watch at open practices now so he doesn’t have to pawn his kid off on a security guard lol. What a loser
Why would you tell me to focus on Lamont? This conversation isn't about him. It's about Knapper.
BTW, at the beginning of last year I was the biggest Brandon fan. Thought he may be the PG of the future. After 2 years (although one was a RS with injury, he still practiced at the end of the year) he just hasn't performed to an adequate level. Even if he couldn't beat out Beetle early on, he should have been able to supplant Harler as the starting 2G. That didn't even happen. Still gets lost on the floor, makes too many errant passes, too many bad fouls. Hopefully next year it clicks in. But it is clear that McCabe has taken over as the floor general.

I may add if Knapper was not injured his first season he would have benefited from playing with Carter in the game. Look how much Carter helped with Bettle's growth last year.
Playing Beetle and Harler all those starting minutes all November and December hurt a rusty Knapper. Knapper never had offseason to train because of the blood clot. He will be much better next year.

McCabe held his man to 7 points. Quit pretending to be another poster pride. Stick with one and be done.

Don't be stupid. Playing Beetle was the only choice we had at PG. Knapper isn't a PG. Couldn't then and can't now direct the O from the point.
Knapper had all the chance in the world to supplant Harler at 2G. But he couldn't. Why? IMO he just doesn't have the skill to play D and not get lost on the floor. Even now aftere almost a full year he still doesn't have the skill to take over the 2G position. Maybe another year and he'll get there. But Bobby is recruiting 2 JC 2G's that have length and can shoot. What does that tell you about his progression as a 2G?
It tells you Huggs will recruit more bad players that will not beat him out next year after he gets a full offseason to work out healthy. He battled knee surgery and blood clot in lung all last year. He had no summer. That won’t happen this offseason. Knapper will be a sophomore next year that improves nicely. Don’t write him off. He won us a Big 12 win all by himself last month with 25 points in regulation. He needs confidence and rhythm. He will play well next game now that he shook some rust off last game after being out a week. He was improving before injury.
