Are there really people that deny common sense that wearing masks will slow the spread?

I thought the opposition was from folks that are saying 17 it, if I get it I get it.

If that’s the case then I don’t see where this is going to make any difference in anyone’s opinion. If it’s not, then they likely couldn’t critically think enough no matter how much evidence or lack of evidence is provided on any subject matter.

In most cases people who don’t wear masks either don’t think it’s necessary or think it’s the government testing the limits of what people will do in obedience. And it’s really shocking how many people believe that.

17ing drives me insane. I hate that spot. Guess I'll just round-up the whole yard and re-sod the damn thing.

I actually think there’s a third and larger group of people that are just incomprehensibly lazy, and they’re using one of your arguments as a convenient excuse.

Mostly selfish people who know that wearing a mask doesn't help them, and they aren't afraid of it, so they aren't going to do it. Many of them claim to subscribe to a Bible that says:

"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." It's puzzling...

Small bare patch? Last time I checked half the damn thing was bare and full of acorns because of the big *** oak trees covering it up.

On wearing masks, to me, I don’t understand why we apparently had it wrong the whole time. Why did the CDC all the sudden change their stance on it, about healthy people wearing them and everything else.

Any thinking human understands we change our stances as we get more information. I don’t understand why Covid dismantled our previous thoughts on masks.

Did you know the only reason the COVID swabs are so long is because they're actually planting tracking devices in your head? Bill Gates needs to know where I am!**

1) early on, it wasn't understood that much of the transmission was from asymptomatic people. Masks aren't nearly as useful when it's the obviously sick passing it around (those folks just stay home). The data pointed to well looking folks passing it around, so they pivoted.

2) there was a PPE shortage worry

There was about a 2-3 week stretch where the cdc said masks are ineffective. By very early April and ever since, their advice has been to wear masks in public, particularly indoors.

Someone once said “any thinking human understands we change our stances as we get more information”

so i think that’s exactly what happened.

I was admittedly frustrated about this too...3 months ago.
This **** has been the same for 3 months. Move the 17 on and accept the change.

I didnt like that the initial stance was masks dont help. I remember turning to my wife and asking why people wear masks in hospitals and in Asia if they dont help reduce the transmission of viruses. It was so odd to me. So when they changed the stance and it came out that the initial stance was in part to avoid a run on PPE, I thought it was total ******** for a health dept to be deceive like that. I still think it was wrong- we need experts to always be honest, otherwise this happens.

But really, it was 3 months ago. Regardless of the reason(s) for the change in position, its been 3 months of the same position and its one that is simple to understand- a physical barrier helps reduce the transmission of covid19.

You telling me to move the 17 on? What’s with the hostility? Anywhere that masks are required, I wear one. So chill the 17 out. That’s not how constructive conversations take place.

It's the public's disconnect from mainstream media. 50% of the nation doesn't take any news seriously.
