Do you think CRP will employ a full court or partial press in this game? It doesn't seem to be very effective against them usually. I just hope that if he does use it and if it starts leading to easy baskets for them that he will call it off sooner rather than later.

Your thoughts?

I think our press has not been effective in the pass because their guards were often bigger than our guys. Having Lee changes that a bit. I think we need to get the ball out of Ulis's hands and see how their other guys do.

I think he will switch it up a lot to keep them confused, there will be some pressing, zones and zone traps. Big Blew has really struggled from the outside so I think we will start off in a zone.

I do think it will be a matchup zone to, hopefully, stop any of their shooters to "go off" like they did versus tOSU.

Expecting to see Pitino mix it up a lot tomorrow. Look for the press to be used initially at the first16 under break. Press should be effective at times. Cards matchup well with their guards. Should be a good one.

Having the guards UK has this year and how they all are very capable ball handlers I can only hope Louisville tries to press. We will kill you guys in transition if that happens.

Doesn't matter if they're good ball handlers. The press does more than cause turnovers. Rick is smart enough to know if he needs to back it off.

UK's ability to handle the press rather easily is a big reason for their dominance in this series. Having 3 point guards means it would be a rather poor decision. Duke tried pressure D on Kentucky in the halfcourt, and it was a dream matchup for Kentucky. We shall see. Maybe this will be the time itll work.

If RP does not fallow the formula of packing it in and making UK hit outside shots UK will run UL off the floor. Duke showed the country how not to play UK. Ucla , Ohio St showed the country how to.

Unfortunately for UL RP is a def and pressure the ball coach. If he does not adjust UK will blow by the D and build confidence at both ends. It happened at Duke and against Arizona st in the 2nd half.

We will see. But in the past RP refused to make adjustments and its cost him losses.

We probably won't turn them over much. The press will probably mainly be used to take some time off the shot clock.

Hopefully they wear down some but fatigue seems to not be a factor in this series even though Cal doesn't usually play that many players. This has been our deepest team though.

Hey whhs22 after reading your post I have to admit that I'm so skeered that my knees are knocking. You seem to forget that UofL IS the best team uahkay will have played this year. Yes, even better than Duke. Not to mention that we are a helluva lot better than Arizona St. OR tOSU OR ucla. What has cost CRP losses is the pipeline of talent brought in by WWWes. It's really that simple. I still say that corupt arena will favor the cayuts and that at least two of our players will have two fouls when they get off the team bus.

Louisville SOS is #331 out of 351 division 1 teams, your best win is Grand Canyon

We shall see. In reality our best "win" was the loss at MSU because they are better than uahkay.

gocds I really think you have no reason to shake or knock your knees today. we will see what happens if RP tries to press all over the floor and play up close. in my opinion that plays right into the game of guys like Ulis , Murray and Briscoe.

I could be wrong , but from what I've seen this year UK plays off of speed. if they can run more then likely the bigs and guards are faster then those trying to guard them. that opens the door for confidence and the crowd to get involved. just in my opinion, that's not the best game plan for this UL team today.

Ulis is a pretty solid point guard, but I'm hoping we can use different presses and defenses to keep them off balance. Our poise is going to mean a great deal, but we have to make as few mistakes as possible. Giving away possessions and breaking down on the boards are giant "no no" issues today. I'm pretty confident in our team.

I honestly believe had rp pulled the pressure back it would be a closer game. Not sure its in his dna to back off.

The OP called this. The press looked useless, if not harmful, against Ulis. However, when UK got the genius idea of letting Murray attack the press instead of Ulis it worked a lot better. Wish Calipari had decided to let Murray be the primary ball handler against our press sooner. That guy is a disaster waiting to happen dribbling the ball.

Adel is a forward. If he gets back in the lineup, it will more than likely be in place of Spaulding not Snider.

Wrong.

Adel is a 3.
JJ or Ray start at the 4

It will be Trey/Damion/Adel/Ray/Chinanu or
Q/Trey/Damion /Ray/Chinanu

Kerry - follow the thread. I made a statement that I think Mitchell (PG) should start in place of Q. Another poster said Adel should start when he is healthy. So my question was ahead of who?

Yeah rocky,

You mean the same adel that scored 3 pts, e Rebs, 4 fouls in one start while snider went 9 pts and 6 assists or the other game where adel went 0-3, 6-8 FTs, 4 Rebs while snider went 12 pts 4 assists. So I ask you again you think he should start over Lee?
