Honestly, I'd kinda like to see the AP Poll regain some of its relevancy in the CFB race. It's been such an integral part to the history of CFB, and it's unfortunate that the CFP committee and their shenanigans with the playoff have reduced it to media talking head fodder.

I would propose that the AP Poll is weighted into and along with the CFP committee's final poll when determining the final rankings for who makes the playoffs.

That way it actually means something to beat an AP ranked opponent and isn't just window dressing. I mean hell, the Coaches Poll might as well be a fan power ranking at this point.

Plus, USC & Nebbie on the road(both receiving votes)... It will be a rough season, but a LOT of great games to watch!!!

The one thing that will most certainly be in our favor, and help the Hawkeyes this year - Depth. Besides CB, I think this is the deepest team Kirk has probably ever had.

Clemson is not top 10

I’m no expert but I read that they return practically everyone from a team that made the CFP last year. And their QB had something like 36 TDs and 6 INTs a year ago. It’s obviously way early for mock drafts but I know some view him as a top 10 pick for the NFL after the season.

If all of those things were true for Iowa I would hope we would be ranked top 10. This thread has people complaining Iowa isn’t ranked and we return less from a team that was less good last year.
