There are a couple of updates on targets starting to accumulate on the Premium board on Hoops recruiting. And with a handful of scholarships available and RU clearly in the market for players down the road for 2020, it's time to take advantage.

I usually try to make at leasr one local or regional event and read a few blogs and boards to follow people I consider pretty reliable over the years.....

Here's the huge difference from years past as far as this site....DeAnte Mitchell has actually been live at EYBL, live at Adidas and live at Pangos events this spring.........obviously we can likely agree that Russ Wood is also a huge resource as well. So you get 1st hand vision and feedback to compliment the coverage.

Basketball games are usually won from April to October in 80% of the circumstances IMO..... If RU continues to add the right fits and athletes/players, the results will show up in the next 2 to 3 seasons, that a lot of fans are hoping for.

Time to sign up and get updated..!!!

Agree 100%! The premium Basketball forum is just awesome! Just a few years ago there wasn’t a hoops board. As soon as you posted something about hoops you would have to go through 10 football posts. Then again, football was doing much better at the time.
Hope both programs can progress to elite status someday soon.

We have the foundation, just need the consistent high level recruits to finish the rebuild off. 2+ decades later....

North Carolina is starting to show interest in Hall. Not sure how serious they are about him at this point in time tho.

Yes...the perception of our program is very much improving:

We have a realistic shot

The real questions is ...can we close ?
The higher the level of recruit the more difficult to close for Rutgers because the competition has successful teams.

Again ...we are going to be in for these guys

Question is ...can we close

We get both hall and onamuryi...it completes the roster in year 5 in a big way

I’m wondering if they will decide before the season? And any chance Cliff still might come for 2019. I don’t know why but I think we get that kid Myles? He seems the most enthusiastic of anyone? Cotrell seems like a long shot.

Russ, I really hope that is not the case. As you know, the percentage of kids who make the NFL, NHL,NBA,MLB,etc. is so small.

Yup. The percentage of kids who make an NFL, NHL,NBA, MLB roster is minute compared to the number of student-athletes playing those sports. Yet every year when I watch Division I teams workout in the summer, I talk to kids who believe they can make their dream happen.

Heck I know a kid who started his college career in probably the 7th or 8th best conference. Suffered two ACL tears. Got two medical redshirts. Was a grad transfer with 2 seasons to play. He transferred to a school in the 10th or 11th best conference. After his first grad transfer season his coach was fired. The other day I got a phone call from someone saying that he is considering transferring to the 2nd worst team in the MEAC.

He will never make a NBA roster, but you can't tell him that. At least he got his degree.

You're the worst
Winning matters in sports but not for a segment of the fan base that continues to ignore reality. Its been a long time since Rutgers attracted a top 50-100 recruit .Its not because the coaching staffs haven't tried .Coach Pikiell understands what is needed based on his experience at Uconn and the Rutgers program is heading in the right direction. At the same time what fans want is far different than top tier recruits who want immediate success for themselves and the teams they play for.

With all of that he should have gotten two degrees! LOL

Maybe Hawkins brings Cotrell.
