Predict UK's screwjob seed and matchup.

We know what's coming tmrw y'all, we will win the SEC after entering the SECT as 5, and get heavily underseeded as a 5 or 4 when deserving of a 3 (I believe we deserve a 3 especially once you factor in injuries and how well we started playing once vando got starter minutes and the committee supposedly factors in injuries in what was mostly an injury plagued season so you'd assume we'd get somewhat of a mulligan on a few of our losses).

I'm gueeeing we get a 5, if lucky they underseed us as a 4. And we get by far the most underseed and/or best 4 or 5 in the field in our matchup. My guess is we get a team who's gonna have to vacate its season anyway and shouldn't be allowed to play in Zona in the second round, or we get a revenge matchup with WV. Just my guess. As we all know unlike Duke and unc every year, our early round games will be made for tv, ratings driven, must see early round TV specifically set up to knock us out early.

What say you all? What screw job seed and matchups do you think we get after winning the SEC? What screwjob seed and matchup will we get with the committee laughing right in MB's face knowing he's going to say, no matter how bad we get screwed, thats he's happy with, and couldn't be more pleased with the draw we got, just like he said with absolute excitement last season after that laughing stock of a bracket where would've had to beat 5 30 win teams to win a title as the #5 overall even though our resume was more deserving for the one seed than UNC's.

I think it'll be a fun exercise to predict our yearly screwjob seed and matchups this year since it's as sure of a thing to happen as Christmas coming in December, and laugh at our predictions when they come true tmrw.

Agree about Arizona. That's what I'm expecting. Though the good news is if that happens, UK will also be paired with the weakest sister 1 seed, since that's who's getting shipped out west. Unless they somehow decide Duke earned a 1 seed by losing in the ACC semi.

We will get Murray State in 1st round if we are a 4.

Our 4/5 matchup will be Arizona, West Virginia. Or Wichita State.

And I forgot to add, if they want to try to be really sly about it, they'll make UK the last 4 seed and Arizona the top 5 seed. Then, they can say "Look, we were totally fair. We seeded you higher than most were predicting. That it resulted in an away game against the team that has the player most likely to be the #1 overall pick? Sorry, that's just bum luck."

UK 5 seed with potential to play OU or UL as their 12 seed.

I predict that the paranoid people who actually believe the NCAA is engaged in a massive conspiracy against UK will continue to employ their paranoia to explain every development that doesn't go our way. I predict our current team is a fringe Sweet Sixteen team based on inconsistency. I predict Knox, SGA, Wynyard are gone after this season. And next year's team will take a big step forward and become 1 of the nation's top 5 teams because of talent and experience.

We are projected a 5 seed by every mock bracket out there besides the one in the KC paper who says we'll be a 6 seed. How is getting a 5 seed a screwjob?

5 seed playing a road game against Arizona? 5 seed matched vs Trae Young in the 1st round?

The devil is in the details.

Let's look at it this way: If UK is a 5 seed, and especially if they win today, shouldn't UK be right at the top of that 5 seed line? If so, what excuse is going to be there to ship UK out west to face Arizona? (this is why I raise the possibility of UK as a 4, Arizona a 5, because then, it all just happens via normal bracketing procedures)

I understand that UK is going to have to play someone pretty good in the 2nd round. And that's fair. I just hope, for once, it doesn't come off as UK being jerked around so they can arrange some primetime showdown that UK probably shouldn't have to play, if things were being done in a completely objective way.

You can be screwed via matchups and play location, we should know.

I vote we get shipped to Boise as a 5 seed, start with Oklahoma, then Michigan st, then Virginia, then Duke.

Yeah. The NCAA has done such a GREAT job of creating made for TV matchups (often at our expense). There is not a smidgen of conspiracy according to Mark Emmert.

Politics and creating better matchups for favored teams appears to factor into seeding. If you think otherwise, I know of a nice single lane bridge spanning the Dix River in Garrard County that is currently on sale for a bargain price.

Wait, having to playing hapless Oklahoma is a screwjob? In what world is Duke and Sparty a 4 seed for us the play them second round?

Sparty could fall to a 4.

And if you want to play the potential player of the year in round one, I don’t know what to tell you.

You've stacked the deck so much, any team we play is a screwjob. For the record, I would love to play that broken team in the first round.

The Notre Dame matchup is probably what we get early on. Oklahoma doesn’t bother me in the least and truthfully, their end of year skid should put them in the NIT.

We’re the underdog after the first weekend, so at this point, I’m not sure we can even consider any bracket favorable.

If we get a good draw it will be the first time since Cals been here, approaching a decade it seems unlikely that we continually land in the most difficult region.

i think if there is a screwjob...it'll be the second game of the tourney.....expect a lower seed than us, to play us.....what if it were Duke or Virginia or Villanova............I dont know though, we may get an easier path if we just stay consistent.

Uk isn't very good this year so any opponent will be tough and hence a screwjob.

It doesn't matter. UK got "screwed" a few years ago when they got the 8-seed, and had the bracket of hell. They shouldn't have been in the 4/5 game vs Indiana in 2016. It really doesn't matter how good UK is to get the strange seeding.

Zona would be a tough match up but I could see them jumping to the 3 line. I know the pac 12 Is down but they won the regular season and conf tournament.

The second round games (well the third round now) is going to produce some damn good
Games all over the bracket.

2005 - UK vs. EKU
2011 - UofL vs. Morehead
2012 - UK vs. WKU
2014 - UK vs. UofL in Sweet 16
2017 - UK vs. NKU

How can anyone think it won’t be UK vs. Murray or Marshall in Nashville in the 4/13 or 3/14 game?

Some of you guys really need your UK fan card pulled. You're either not very bright, you've been living under a rock or a combination of both. Maybe you're just not even UK fans, idk.

This. Exactly this.

Yep. Look forward to Idaho. Only one top quarter win is all they need to smack Kentucky. And Barn Yard is too stupid to figure out how to do anything about.

Silly wabbits...seeding was done last week for UK. The only reason Sunday is selection day is because it gives them a whole day to figure out how to place the ACC.

Exactly. UK will be a 4 seed against Murray or Marshall ( bet it is Murray) . The 5 seed we play in the second round will be Witchita St I bet. Zona is a 4 as well so we won't play them ( thank god) . UK's resume is better then a 5 seed especially if we win today. I think we could get a screw job as a 5 seed if we lost today and get scrubbed down to a 5 but I bet we win.

It is not necessarily that they are out to hose UK. They just have to make the path for UNC*** and Duke as easy as they can make it. I do believe that they will go out of their way to make matchups that are "exciting" which will mean that any team that has beaten us recently will be in our path,

Name a time under Cal that we’ve actually had a good draw. I guess Scott Van Pelt is a conspiracy theorist according to you since he’s noticed what many on here are griping about.
Or...
Scott is a smart broadcaster and is just placating to UK fans for more hits. I mean, we all know how Scott is considered an authority on collegiate basketball.
