You left us too soon fella. Thanks for your contributions to UK basketball. May God give comfort to your family. RIP

I always enjoyed watching Ed Davender play. He was one of the better players at UK in history and never gets the recognition when all time greats are mentioned. If he has indeed passed away, he will be missed.

ummmm...

Ed's not dead yet. He's on life support. Nothing reporting a death from UK basketball, UK athletics, Coach Cal, or Matt Jones. Those are the guys that would get it out as soon as it happened.

This is getting awkward.
Is it bad to have a chuckle at this? It isn't out of disrespect toward E.D. . Just struck me funny how we, as UK fans, look far too ahead too often. Sad news nonetheless.

I couldn't help but laugh when I read your post starting out with "Ummm . . . " I just pictured someone stepping up and sobering people up with reality. Well done.
Are you stupid? Nothing remotely funny about this.

Get over yourself. He was talking about a post, not the situation
Get over yourself. Whether it was about a post or not, still not the place for humor. It's called respect.

Obviously you didn't read post #s 29 & 47. Were it not for those two critical posts, I'd TOTALLY agree with your view. Those are the two that would prevent it though.

Thank you for your defense, Blueaz. Very kind of you. Nice to see that you knew what I was referring to due to keeping up with the entirety of the thread, not just one random post. It's ironic that I was chuckling at how we UK fans are so quick to look ahead . . . and take for granted what we have at the present. Then that's exactly what U9K does, proving my point. I don't take offense to it . . . it's his/our nature. Thanks again!

One of my favorite players, because he played the game like it was supposed to be played.
RIP Ed! You'll always be a Wildcat!

He was very smooth with the ball and overlooked by many cats fans when talking about former players that were special.

I saw his daughter posting on FB upset about people declaring him dead when he wasn't. That Nora lady was like, coach hall says otherwise to the daughter. I clicked on Morgans page and Ed was posting on it recently.

Prayers for Ed. Hang tough. I met and talked to Ed a few times, really good guy from my encounters. I had a small friendship with Mel before he passed. He and his wife were always really nice to me. His younger brother worked for me for a while, it was a tough loss. Here's hoping Ed can pull through this one. My thoughts and prayers are with Ed and his family today.

My parents buried their 25 year old son who died from an auto accident. They never were able to get over his death. It was so sad. Fortunately they were not alive to bury their other son who died from a massive coronary heart attack at the age of 45. He died at my house. I will never forget that day. Both of my brothers died at such an early age.

So sad for the family. But to possibly give life to others by donating his organs in a way allows Ed to live on. What a legacy.

That is a awesome gift to others. His mother is amazing to think of others at such a difficult time for her. May God bless her and the family

A family from my church lost their eldest son about 15 years ago. He was in law school at UK. Young, promising, and full of life. Everytime I see them when I visit home, no matter how happy they are, you can see a deep sadness in their eyes. It's still painful to think about sitting in the hospital waiting room hearing them talk about taking him off life support.

So sad to hear that UK great player has passed away at such a young age! His legacy as a UK Wildcat will live forever!
Prayers for his family and friends.
