Hey guys, so my mother passed away (unexpectedly -- she was relatively young, in her late 50s) the day after we signed Momcilovic. Any thoughts and prayers (from any religion, non-religion, whatever) will be much appreciated. She was a much better person than me, so I hope to learn from her example and be there for my daughter like she was for me.

She went to LSU, so I will root for them to do well, except when they play the Cats, of course.

I'm probably not going to be around much for a while -- thanks to some of you for checking in on me thru DM -- it's really appreciated. Looks like Pope is doing fine without me bitching about him, so probably best anyway I stay away for a while LOL. Hope to hang with you guys during the season.

Thanks --

Sorry to hear about your Mother. Prayers for you and family. Know that you aren't alone in this walk. This board has its share of negatives but, many of us have been through this and are ready to help get you through the tough days.

Positive vibes your way, OP. Lost my mom to cancer when she was 55 and I was 25. Time helps, but you’ll never really be the same. Spend time with family and friends as much as possible over the next few months.

Praying for you and your daughter, my man. My dad was a good deal older than that when he passed away suddenly and unexpectedly and it really messed me up.

Moms are the rock of the family. I spent 10x more of my freetime with my Dad, but I know that when I needed help, in almost any form that isnt say, building a deck, I went to my mom. She passed last August. Its a gut punch and it doesnt alleviate quickly, but it does get better. I remember thinking "im just gonna quit my job, screw it" and stuff like that, but it fades over time. Fortunately (but also bittersweet-ly) you sort of just accept the new norm after some time passes.

Moms are special and I was very lucky that she lived to 95 and was very much at ease with its ending. We celebrated her life with tears of course but with many smiles and laughs. My father passed unexpectedly many years prior and it still hurts today. It was five years before I could put Dad and death in the same sentence without choking up. My condolences to you and your family. you will be in my prayers. Take time to grieve but take comfort in the warm memories

My Mom passed away 10 years ago this Spring. When something happens good or bad I sometimes still pick up the phone to call her. I'm sorry that you are going through this, prayers buddy.

I know it hurts, and it's gonna hurt for a while, but then you'll be able to cherish the memories. Embrace your family and your friends and let them help you carry the load. When you're ready come back to your big blue family, but tell them thoughts and prayers your way.

God bless you. Lost my dad when I was 25, lost my mom last year, it’s a weird thing to go through. Sold the home and the land, empty feeling left in your gut. All the memories, all the good times, you never realize they are the glue in our lives. It definitely leaves a void. Prayers my friend. You are not alone.
