Good morning BBN
just requesting prayers for my mom today
She’s having spinal fusion surgery. Mom has been living with degenerative disc disease for a long time..has had this surgery before but today it’s more intensive. L4 to the coccyx
She’s been in a lot of pain and we are hoping that this will remove it
My mom is 74 years old..and I worry for all the obvious reasons
So if you all could send prayers/good thoughts today I’d greatly appreciate it

Prayers all goes well for your mom. My mother is 90 just went down Sat and got pictures of her with Toppin,Wallace,Ware and BIG O. Guys were super nice to her!! Just hug em up and love on your parents while they are here.

Here is a prayer I found that is very nice for today.

Father, we trust You with our lives. For You promise us: “Lord my God, I called to you for help, and you healed me.” (Psalm 30:2) Bless the surgeons and medical staff that will operate on us. Be with them and equip them to be extensions of Your healing hand. Remain present with me, Lord, even when I fall asleep from the pain medication. Help me to feel Your presence, and remember that You are always with me. Never leaving. Always faithful. Loving me more than I’m capable of understanding.

Update:
Mom is out of surgery
They fused T10 all the way down to the butt bone
Dr said that the surgery went perfectly smooth and we will be able to see her when she wakes up
She’s in recovery now. Will be about another hour from now

Prayers for Mom. My dad had back surgery in October at age 86. Had three discs laying on each other and one bulged into the nerve. They pulled that one back in place and spaced the others off each other and locked it all in place all without cutting him open, just two small holes. Have no idea how they did it but just took 45 minutes and he was in Kroger an hour later.

Hope your Mom's surgery goes well. The pain from that can be deblitating and tiresome for sure.

Mom is home..was discharged late yesterday afternoon
She’s really doing well..pretty loopy on pain meds which is fun lol
Says what pain is there is from surgery, which she can handle because she knows it will get better.
