What I just don't understand is that I thought the big issue was racism. This guy in Charlotte was killed by a black cop because he wouldn't put his gun down. This is the shooting that causes a riot? I don't get it.
They can't claim racism, unless they are saying the entire police force is racist, but that's grasping at straws.
I would have understood a riot over the shooting in Tulsa a lot more. That guy had no gun, was walking away, and had already been tasered.
The one thing that nobody seems to be mentioning is that during this riot police were attacked, and not one rioter was shot. Not one. The police encountered a group of violent people hell bent on destruction, and they didn't shoot any of them. The worst they did was hit them with some tear gas.
Had the police shot a few people, they probably would have been justified, but they didn't. It just makes it hard for me to believe the entire Charlotte police force is racist and out to kill black people.
I'm not saying we don't have problems with race relations in this country, but this wasn't an example of that.
