Are we really arguing that it's not harder to win at Northwestern (in either football or basketball) than other schools in the Big Ten? Seriously?
No one has said such a thing. It's hard, relatively speaking. It's not sufficiently hard to ***** about it and to imply that doing better shouldn't be an expectation, especially since it's as hard or harder at other schools academically speaking (I'm looking at you Stanford) and they've shown what is possible. Hell, we don't even have to look at what other schools have done -Gary Barnett showed what was possible here at Northwestern with a deck stacked much deeper against him, without the benefit of any evidence whatsoever or $275m facilities that are the best in the land. Hard? Sure. But, certainly doable and far from a minor miracle and absolutely within reach and should be within our expectations.
