Is it me or does the entire team look faster in these still photos..?

Oh sure, much faster, stronger and bigger. Everyone can see that in the still photos. Also, if you look carefully at each picture you can see how much bad weight they lost and good weight they have gained.

Moral if the story is if you hear things enough you will believe them and trick your eyes into believing what your mind has been told.

Why are you trying to create drama when there is none? I think I can speak for nearly every person in this forum when I say "We want the one as determined by the coaching staff to be the best for our chances of winning," and that's it.

Honestly...what person with a normal psychiatric profile could "hate on Gebbia?" For goodness sakes, the kid spends every free moment of his time trying to become the best QB he can be in this offense. No one dislikes Gebbia. No one dislikes Martinez. Some may think that one or the other is a better runner or passer. We just want a good starting QB...period. Loosen up...the world isn't one big conspiracy theory.

Nah, I’m not trying to do this or that. I’m one of the few that is WIDE open to Gebbia or Martinez. Are you really going to set there and pretend a high percentage of our message board Husker fans aren’t trying hard to sale Martinez as the one and only QB that is perfect in every way and then knock Gebbia ever chance they can get? Forgive me but again, I’m not going to dog Gebbia nor try and talk him down just to try and prove my agenda on A Martinez.

Every since the spring game that’s all i see and hear on here. How Gebbia is to small, he can’t run and this and that. Then I see and hear how Martinez is so great in ever single way and it’s not even close...why have a QB battle...might as well hand him the spot now. Why wait, RIGHT???

Sorry brotha but it gets old. Gebbia can be every bit as dangerous as AM. I for one won’t knock either QB and fine letting Frost watch fall camp and see who wins it out. I’m ultimately not for one over the other. But seeing how Gebbia gets down played in here, yes he’s got my vote. I always pick the under dog, no clue why. But i wouldn’t be but hurt if Martinez wins it either. Dudes going to be a good one....and guess what....so will Gebbia.

Yeah, I don't see it that way. A lot of people just want to declare Martinez the starter because he's Frost's guy and Gebbia was Riley's. If you actually read what huskerssalts has written he's just saying that too many of you are already crowning Martinez when in reality Gebbia has done nothing to lose the battle for the position.

Thanks brotha....finally someone actually pays attention to my true point. Again i won’t care if it’s Gebbia or Martinez that rolls out as the starter. And funny, you have seen the same issue I have with the Martinez vs Gebbia talk on this board.

It's a reaction to a certain contingent that's been trying to shove AM down our collective throats since the Spring Game.
I'm just going to let Frost and company decide when the time is right.

As long as someone doesn't get slammed for being too big and thick. I really feel for those that are being attacked for that, because I get so tired of hearing it from women.*

*Proof that the male gender never grows up, and that big d*ck jokes are always good clean silly fun.

Both QB's will play in first 3 games, he who executes goes as starter in to conf.

And ill laugh my a$$ off if and when Gebbia wins this QB battle. Wow, how badly some of you guys have hated on this kid. I’m all for A. Martinez too but I have never given up on Gebbia either. Seeing everyone hate on Gebbia has only pushed me to root even harder for this young man Gebbia to win this battle. His only knock has been his weight, even Frost said that same.
Gebbia is a gamer.

I never gave up on Gebbia. We will win some games with him this year.

That’s actually how I think things will play out this year at QB. It won’t be a just Gebbia or just Martinez. I bet we see a mix of both. Both are very good QBs and have some great skill sets. This game war though, I bet we see both in action through out the season.

I agree. And I wouldn't be surprised to see Bunch in that rotation too.

That said, the rotating QB thing can really bite you in the *** sometimes. The offense never gets into a comfort zone with a single guy. I prefer to see a true starter named, with the backup getting some reps here and there. But if none of the theee clearly stands out from the others in Fall camp, then we might see a QB by committee situation until one of them emerges as the best in-game QB. As a former QB, I think Frost understands the advantages of having a clear-cut starter

Both? I'm thinking 3 guys will play at least some in the several of those early games.
Feels like 1998. Crouch vs. Newcombe, but also needing Christo. I would be okay with that.

Speaking of, I looked up in sort of a "where are they now" exercise:
Eric Crouch: TV Sports Analyst, Recreational Equipment Vendor.
Bobby Newcombe: Doctorate in Management and Leadership, Casteel High School Head Football Coach.
Monte Christo: Anesthesiologist in Omaha.

I kind of get the impression that the coaching staff is going to weigh their decision on ability to think. Being bigger, faster or whatever rational you want to think is more important only takes you as far as your ability to think and make the right calls. Especially when neither have taken a collegiate snap. I'm probably wrong though.

I don't think u are wrong. From what Frost and Verduzco have said they want guys who can process the info fastest and get the ball out.

I think what most people know is that the QB run game is a big part of the offense as well. Frost has stated you don't have to be a burner to effective in the run game but you do have to be able to make the plays that are there and pick up those 5-7 yard runs (or something similar lol). Of course you would love a 4.4 guy capable of the home run but it's not a requirement for the offense to be effective.

I think somewhere the upside capability of a Martinez may catch up. Idk...nobody REALLY knows but I honestly live both those guys. I just think that if Martinez ever comes close to processing information and passing it as accurately as Gebbia we could see a more dynamic offense. BUT again that has to happen naturally on the field. Honestly it'll be fun to watch unfold.

I've said before that Gebbia will be a player for somebody whether he does well at UNL or not. I could see him out in Washington St. in a Mike Leach offense KILLING IT. Hell I could see him in several offenses doing work. To me it's win/win for Nebraska. I selfishly hope we can keep both these kids happy enough to stay around should they lose the job.
