yes you did Mr .Confused.

This is the last time I am going to straighten you out on this point. Here is my so-called "prediction"

its not like Minnesota did anything special during those years though. Sure it's better than whatever RU is doing right now but I'd hardly point to Minnesota as some "recruiting doesn't mean everything" success story. Threads like this popped up all the time when flood was coach. Recruiting is far from everything, but heck you don't have to look much further than the 4* guys RU signed in the past to realize they tend to do better than the lower recruits. New Jersey High school football is too good to make excuses for lackluster recruiting, no matter the circumstances.

I think you missed my point. koleszar said it best:

I believe the point he's trying to make is Kill can identify and take those lesser rated recruits and turn them into a competitive winning team. Once you begin winning it makes getting those 4 and 5 stars a lot easier to secure. Then you can start setting your sights on the top echelon.

Right now our sights are set on becoming competitive and winning against the middle and lower echelon teams. We simply don't have tradition or perception to sell these kids right now. But with the right men(note: opposite boy wonder) at the helm that could change quickly.

The point being, nobody is going to debate that getting 4 and 5 star recruits would be great. However, that does not appear to be possible at this point with the results on the field in 2016. We can be competitive with Minnesota-type classes, get a foothold, and then get to the next level with recruits and on the field.

And you mentioned Flood. In 2014, with two 4* recruits on the field (Hamilton and Barnwell), Flood with Friedgen as OC had a decent year at 8-5 and 3-5 in the B1G, and a decisive win a bowl game. We all know what happened after 2014. RU can get back to the 2014 level and build from there.

This is NOT what I was expecting. I really thought there might be some cheesy 3 foot-high chain-link fence that looks rag-tag amateur-hour. This looks like something you might see on a FBS team's campus.

Why were you expecting a chain-link fence when articles before construction began indicated a brick facade surrounding the grounds?

No particular reason. I've been a fan going on a quarter century. Whenever something seems to go right, things fall apart. What can I say? I'm a miserable bastard who's always prepared for the worst. It comes with being a Rutgers fan for many. We can't all have Rutgersal's optimism. For example , when stadium was expanded in (2009?), there were plans for locker rooms under the South end and elevators, etc. It's 2017 and it still hasn't happened. Not a travesty, but it things always seem to get scaled back.

They could be 7v7 coaches, "uncles", etc.

Or cousins. "Handlers" are usually people who did nothing with their own lives who push talented high school athletes they know toward "big name" schools even if it's not in the athlete's best interest. This is done for their own personal gain whether it's to boost their own ego or "resume". However, not ALL handlers are like this. Some of them are actually youth sports coaches who dedicate a lot of their time towards helping young athletes. These people I applaud when they have the kids best interest at heart. Some kids need to get away from home (certain situations and "friends" who may drag them down and not allow them to grow) and RU isn't the right or best scenario for EVERY kid. I acknowledge that. However, over the years there have more than a few prospects who were really feeling RU who were steered to a bigger name just because it was a bigger name and nothing more.

So if you want to see the latest pictures full size:

Anyone know what that structure is that they're building in the last picture?

The structure in the last picture is a new "Football weekend" dorm where you can rent a room for $120 a night on game day.
