I think it's called SPEED.Is that good O or bad D?? Love his confidence and he figured out the d
Don't know if this has been covered, but Palmer has a time of 10.42 and 21.11 in the 100 and 200. That is P5 sprinter speed. Those times are faster than any NU sprinter has posted last year or this year.I think it's called SPEED.
Any time you lose “up the middle” players in any sport it hurts worse than one expects. We lose center, nose tackle and both safeties. Ouch. (And new qb but that one might not be an ouch imo)I really hope Trey is right. Because I have a feeling the offense will need to score 42 points a game if they want to be able to make it to a bowl. Nebraska will need to be like Texas Tech when Mike Leach was there.
Has there been a time during the crotch rot era that this program consistently played complimentary football?I really hope Trey is right. Now what are you doing bringing some perspective to this?In college football guys cycle out all the time, you are replacing starters every year. The next guy will either step up or he won't but there have been plenty of years, even under Osborne, that there were questions with regards to who was going to replace "insert player here". In that era we were talking about replacing all league players, with all due respect to the outgoing group of Dlinemen they weren't all league performers. Experience doesn't always mean better player. Austin (1st team media and 2nd team coaches), Domann (2nd team coaches & 3rd team media), CTB (2nd team in both media and coaches) and Jurgens (3rd team coaches) were the only players on 3 teams of all league players. Probably 100 players on those lists and we are replacing 4. All of the hand wringing over this is strange to me.
I don’t see a lot of wringing of the hands over who’s going to replace Jojo. A lot of DL experience leaving, but when I watched the defense in the late season games I saw a lot of Rogers and Robinson. In college football guys cycle out all the time, you are replacing starters every year. That makes even less sense. We aren't talking about replacing an all conference player, but darn that DL experience is impossible to replace.I don’t see a lot of wringing of the hands over who’s going to replace Jojo. Perhaps I was unclear. There is a lot of agita over two spots on the Dline, but two returning players were logging a lot of snaps against legit Olines later in the season. There is a natural suspicion of sunshine pumping from the coaches, but when the coaches in question refuse to pump any sunshine, then it’s doom and gloom time. Take a look at a depth chart for the interior DL spots for Suh’s Jr. year. Backing up Suh and Ty Steinkuhler were two RS freshman. One was Jared Crick. He wasn’t yet the Jared Crick we remember. That makes even less sense. We aren't talking about replacing an all conference player, but darn that DL experience is impossible to replace.
Perhaps I was unclear. My point was that all the handwringing is about DLine. Mostly because the TE coach said the offense was able to move the ball on the ground. I pointed to the 4 guys that were all league to bring attention to the fact that none of them were defensive linemen. So replacing Joe Average defensive linemen shouldn’t be the cause of all of this doom and gloom, even though the TE coach shares his observations.Perhaps I was unclear. having one that could hit ME in stride would help.having a qb that can hit a fast reciever in stride will help the offense a little
Feisty is and will be a backup but still a nice piece to have in a pinch. We have enough talent to be competitive. Period. Anything less than a winning B1G record would be disappointing.I’m interested in watching Hutmacher, Buckley and Weaver.. Casey Rogers is out and we know what we have in Ty..
The other 3 are green and look like they have the size to make it difficult in this conference in the run game..
How much Colton Feist can come back from a injury is another wildcard..
Feist has played in 12 football games over the past two years. Hutmacher played last year. Those two are competent backups.Feisty is and will be a backup but still a nice piece to have in a pinch. Dingle, I agree, this team will be competitive.Feisty is and will be a backup but still a nice piece to have in a pinch. We have enough talent to be competitive. Period. Anything less than a winning B1G record would be disappointing.
See Mathis. I've heard six figures.Since nil is basically free agency for college, it sure would be nice to put together a nice compensation package solely for a really good D lineman to come here.
My take, at least these past five seasons or so, on losing starters to graduation, draft or whatever……Nebraska wasn’t winning with them so next man up.In college football guys cycle out all the time, you are replacing starters every year. Add Mathis and another DL that can PLAY and 7-5 might be the bottom. I have total confidence that Vince will do his thing after the Spring game and heading into Fall.
If, and its not a big if, this is "do or die" for SF, I think Vince may have Scott and Trev's blessing to do what he does and try to bring in a couple of dudes. Very few in the country do it better than him.
Everyone here should take the time to watch Trey Palmers segment.
New recruiting/operations guy who was here for Callahan's years.Vince?
10.3 hundred meters in high school, returns punts and kickoffs, quick passes, deep passes, get the ball in his hands about 15 times a game. Offense is so easy.Everyone here should take the time to watch Trey Palmers segment.
He starts right at the 34:00 mark.
Yep, he said he won the LA state 100 meters finals in 10.4, but his best on the year was 10.3.Don't know if this has been covered, but Palmer has a time of 10.42 and 21.11 in the 100 and 200. That is P5 sprinter speed. Those times are faster than any NU sprinter has posted last year or this year.
