Haven’t we flattened the curve already? It’s under the target of NOT OVERWHELMING THE SYSTEM!

I think the point he is trying to make is need should be determined on how much you lost.

If you normally do $1 million in sales and $150k profit and you dropped to $800k and $75k, then you should get to keep $75k to make up the difference.

If you normally do $1 million and $150k and business wasn’t affected at all, you should have to pay back what you took. Otherwise it’s just free money that you really didn’t need.

If you want to get angry, be mad at the government for setting the rules. The money is there and these businesses qualified. Why turn down money that someone else is just going to take and use?

I saw where some bands got a PPP loan.

One of them was Pearl Jam, but they aren't the only ones. There were several.

That's disgusting.I love Pearl Jam. Listen to their music all the time, but why would they (or any other band) get a PPP loan?

Correct. Also you have to remember Mayweather and Pearl Jam are the people that will be paying all of this back. Several trillion dollars have been printed up and handed out to everyone, other than top income earners, whether people needed or not. When it comes time to pay the Piper, it's going to be the top income earners paying most of it back.

Now, in an ironic twist, some of the ones posting about Marxist movements will get their panties in a twist about someone pointing out wealth redistribution.

Bands aren't able to make a dime right now thru live performances so a ton of people would lose jobs and benefits. Pearl Jam isn't just 3 or 4 dudes who show up and play music.

This. Do people not realize how many people are employed in a Pearl Jam or equivalent tour?

So are you saying that loan money will go to security, concession workers, ticket scanners, etc. that missed out an already planned tour? I think that would be hard to do. There are probably at least a couple of hundred people at each location between the different types of personnel. It's one thing for it to be a payment to a central group, but to have the group spread out over cities all around... I doubt that it happens that way.

I think when you buy a ticket from Ticketmaster, then Ticketmaster pays the location a certain percentage, of which the workers are paid from. Pearl Jam isn't cutting the concession stand worker a check.

But I do know it's more than just Ed, Mike, Stone, Jeff, and Matt. There are sound techs, pyro guys (possibly - if fireworks are used) etc. But it isn't the thousands of people that are local and working a venue for one night. They get paid from the venue itself, not the artist.

Good news here is that we’ll be able to get them at Bulldog Bash for much cheaper now***
