So I was just reading on the Targum's website (yes, I still read it daily even though I graduated 11 years ago) that Cook and Douglass campuses are experiencing their third massive power outages in two days and the campuses are essentially shut down (no classes, campus centers closed, etc.).
this got me thinking a few things.

First, for any of the longer fans here, has any sports event at RU ever been hit with a power outage which affected the ability of the event to go on?

Secondly, anyone have thoughts if the university has redundancy plans in place for something like this or since it is college sports, if the general plan is to just cancel or postpone the event to a later date which suits the teams' availabilities (but possibly not fans)?

I was at Pimlico on Preakness Day and the power went out in the Clubhouse. Racing continued but you could not place bets there. It was hot, bathrooms started to back up and since the place is a dump anyway it made the place intolerable. Most people left early. I made it back home in Philly in plenty of time to watch Real Quiet win on TV

If they provide one of these for each seat there should be plenty of juice for the broadcast booth and keeping the soda cold.

Three weeks later, I was in Elmont, NY to watch (and win on) Victory Gallop.

Note: I corrected the spelling of "Gallop" from "Gallup."

I was there as well. My seats were 50 yards short of the finish and thought Real Quiet held on. Wanted a Triple Crown winner so bad. Was at all 3 races many years in a row. Was heartbroken.
But that made American Pharaohs victory that much sweeter. Especially when I called it in February last year.

We didn't have seats. My wife and I were standing right on the finish line and couldn't tell who won. More than anything else I remember the long wait to get on the shuttle bus to take me to the parking area behind the backstretch at that huge facility.

I used to get The Targum sent to me via email. Then it stopped. Are they still doing this, and if so, how do I get it back?

If you still go to the Belmont and go to Rutgers games I can give you great ideas to be the first out of there. Not a shared post on here.

Not a power outage, but caused delays.
1955 at Brown - torrential rains, field covered in water, couldnt place kick at all. We made 2 extra points and they had none. 14-12
1974 Boston U at home. Fog and more fog. Couldn't see anything at times, but we still passed. I think the only TD was an interception return and nobody saw the TD signal. We won 6-0.
There was a game at the old Giants Stadium that some of the lights went out and delayed the game. Might have been vs Virginia.
The 1950's had all manual usage at RU so except for communications, it's was placards on the score board.
