ST and OL are the only places I think you might see us choose to go a different direction. Everyone else I think we will try to bring back unless they get a better job offer.

I certainly hope we go in a different direction with the S&C coach. That would probably have the most positive impact on the team if we get a good one.

Special Teams and Strength/Conditioning are the two that immediately come to mind.
I'd love to see him hire an offensive coordinator but I'm not holding my breath.

Hopefully we're doing all we can to entice Grantham to come back since his son will be here. That would take the sting out of having another year with our current OC.

The defense was up and down all year for sure (with way more down than up), and I know it’s been beaten to death but while most of the tutorgate ten might not have made a big impact, Willie Gay would have made a gigantic difference if he plays all 12 games. And I think our falloff is a lot less dramatic if he doesn’t get suspended. I know some will say that it’s moorhead’s fault that this happens but stupid **** like this happens all the time. It was just horrible timing.

We held Ole Miss to their lowest output in the ground since the opening week of the season. They ran for 80 vs. Memphis and then were north of 160 in every game (with three games at 400+) and we held them to 139 in the Egg bowl.

Gay played vs. UK, their offense was in flux but as we’ve seen they can move the ball with the best of em. The loss to state was one of 5 games where they were held under 400 yards of total offense.

UT was a miserable affair that I’d like to forget. We held them below their admittedly meager season avg. of 364 ypg. This is also the game that Joe lost me on. I’m open to coming around but this game was indefensible.

And he played vs. Arky. Objectively our best game of the year but one that you can’t really take much from. If we had it back and Jo calls me to see how and when to deploy the suspended players I’m swapping Arkansas for KSU. If nothing is different about that game except Gay is in at LB we win. They found something in the second half going to TEs on play action drags that took an hour to develop. He’s ether going to disrupt the timing or cover those TEs better than whoever the hell want.

The problem is that like the offense, the defense went full on Sirmonian vs good offenses. But I’m optimistic that 2020 will see a return of a d-line that can get after some guys which is always where it starts.

if Cory Bichey (head S&C) and Joey Jones are back, Moorhead has zero ability to see weakness in his staff and we are doomed to repeat our past failures. these two MUST to go if Moorhead is serious about winning. Bichey was an assistant and low and behold, here we are promoting people with zero track record of success at the D1 level to arguably the most important positions on the staff. we M-stated the **** out of that promotion.

If those 2 are back, JoMo doesn't take winning seriously enough. Period.

Either that or the administration has got the budget screws too tight...I wouldn't put it past these clowns.

Apparently you didn't hear his speech after he unmercifully beat a team, judging by his bravado, that's equal to the New England Patriots. It's HIS team, HIS program, HIS players and HIS staff. Know your place Bob from Bogue Chitto and don't waste bandwidth debating issues you know so little about. The Savant knows all. This is the way.

Why should he. He just got at least $3 mil more and still has a guaranteed $4 mil+ buyout. That Yankee *** played Cohen and a Keenum like a concert violinist.

How can you guarantee? He kept the most inept offensive mind in football. Even the dudes family thought he sucked and wanted to leave.***

Moorhead again mentioned "ridiculous special teams mistakes" in his halftime interview. If he doesn't change the Special Teams coach, then I don't know what to think.

I don’t think Moorhead wants to win badly enough to make the needed changes. But he at minimum needs to make one of two changes:
Option 1: hire a good OC and focus on being a ceo coach. Recruit. Game plan. Manage other coaches. No excuse for being so unprepared for each game. No excuse for being so soft. I don’t think this is a great option because I don’t think This role fits Joes personality or aptitude.

Option 2: Hire an assistant head coach that will manage practice, handle discipline, supervise other coaches to make sure they are instilling toughness (particularly the s&c coach), etc to let Joe focus on recruiting, OC, and offensive game planning. I don’t think Joe’s ego would let him do this and it might be hard to find the right guy for that asst head coach position, but I think this approach would maybe work, depending on whether joe can be a good OC if he isn’t focused on so much other stuff.

Probably neither of those will happen, and we will change S&C coach and special teams (if we don’t do that, that’s just Joe’s nonverbal 17 you to the administration and fan base to follow his verbal one, and we should just go ahead and fire him because he’s just planning on collecting a paycheck anyway.
