Ole Miss colors make most of them a no go and the Freebird flag looks like something from a high school competition. The words of the designers to describe their work, however, made me proud.

I lived in Mississippi until I was 25 and in Chicago for over a decade. I've been back in Mississippi since May to get away from the corona/riots and it's as true now as it was then, two complete strangers of different racial backgrounds are much more likely to see/strike up a conversation here in Mississippi than in Chicago. The hate and fear mongering that goes on on twitter, facebook, and cable "news" threatens to diminish that, but in the real world people are people and most have more in common than not.

Birds one and the one with busy stripes - terrible. The others I could live with. Wouldn't be my preference over either Stennis or the dark blue one that was posted here.

I agree with your thoughts on this. If you read this next quote, you couldn't tell if it came from a black or white person. Just that it came from a person from Mississippi who was proud of her state. This is how I wish everyone felt.

I honestly think that I hate them all....I love the idea of cross-cultural input and design, as that's the whole point of this. That said, these are just not good.

The third one and last one(change the colors to a deeper red and blue) aren’t terrible.
I’ve seen much better designs however.

I know I will get skewered for this, but why reach out to “Black Artists”? Why the 17 does everything in our country have to revolve around race. Who cares what color the skin is for the individual who may be the designer of our new flag. Just glad the old one is gone so maybe we can move forward. Of course I’m sure it won’t change much in the media’s eyes. They’ll just find something else to stir up Cause god forbid we all get along. Sorry, rant over...

The mockingbird flag is by far the best of the bunch. But yeah it’s a garden flag.

Holy **** those are terrible.

#1 is horribly busy, and the plant details can't decide if they want to be on the flag or not.

#2 looks like a cheap piece of art I could pick up at Fads 'n Frames.

#3 might be an alternate logo for the Mississippi Braves.

#4 is uniquely ugly. It's unbalanced, awkward, and doesn't seem to understand shapes.

#5 looks like Uncle Sam's pants.
