I have listened to each of the last six SEC Post-Game press conferences given by BOC.

What I HAVE heard (paraphrased):
- These players badly want to win
- This is a tough league
- All teams go through rough patches
- Other teams are getting breaks
- Other teams are making plays
- Other teams are getting timely hits
- I am the head of this program
- I take full responsibility
- We’ve got to play a little harder
- We’ve got to coach a little bit better
- We’re not playing up to the standard

What I have NOT heard:
- As a coaching staff, here specifically is what we plan to do to correct the problem
- As the head of the program, here specifically is what I plan to do to fix the problem
- We already have the talent we need to be winners
- The reason we can’t hit is <reason>
- Our hitting coach plans to do <this> to correct the problem

Facts:
- We are paying our head coach an elite-level salary
- We have elite baseball facilities (not just the stadium)
- We are traditionally a winning program (except for 2-3 years after 2021)
- This is the ONE sport we have won a National Championship in
- This is the only sport in which we can reasonably have any hope to nationally compete in the foreseeable future
- We have no chance to compete for a championship in basketball
- We CERTAINLY have no chance to compete for a championship in football

Bottom line is we have a bunch of players and coaches who do/did not understand playing at home at The Dude in SEC play and what the expectations are. We are currently 7-2 in away games and 0-6 at home in SEC play. That is nowhere near the standard of playing home SEC series at The Dude. We have been lost on both sides the last two weekends. There is still time to right the ship, but I am no longer hopeful.

This team has the talent to garner a national seed for sure; however, not defending the best home advantage in the SEC is no way to make that happen.

A coach isn’t going to sit in the press conference and give a power point on how they are going to make changes to fix the problem.

When have you ever heard any head coach of any sport at any level talk “specifics“ about what they need to do to win/fix problems/stop a losing streak?

Best thing he said is there are those that hit the panic button. We don't and we won't.

Actually, the real problem is "get better players". We have some good young talent but the older guys on this team are not producing. No doubt being 0-6 at home is a sore spot to be in, let's hope we can get back on track and get hot with the so call "potential big-league hitters".
It's just that simple, you can't win unless you score runs.

We are 4-2 away and 3-6 at home. We swept Vandy at home.

I don't think that's it. We have a LOT of older guys on this team who have produced throughout their careers, until 2 weeks ago. And it's not just the transfers.

Seems the older guys have not been as good verus Sec pitchers.
i hope the 4 or 5 older guys get hot. Many are batting low .200 in Sec play.

As much as I hate it, some of this is "just baseball." There were a few balls hit hard this weekend but straight at somebody. Frei hit a laser to the wall that should have plated a couple of runs but the outfielder made a great catch. They are still looking at too many fastballs "working the count" and then swinging at spinners low or off the plate. My real concern is pitching. Am I wrong for questioning Parker's abilities? Of course as soon as I do, the pen will throw a combined no no.

Yea, we're playing poorly and catching bad breaks. That often seems to happen together in baseball, and the flipside is also true. The last two games are the first two to bother me. We did what we were supposed to do to win Friday night. Umps got us. Yes, we had the chance to overcome that, but we're without a Friday night starter and did enough. Just needed to not get screwed on two calls that plated runs.

Certainly it's concerning because sometimes you find out teams really just aren't that good (or they can't get out of their head regardless of talent), but I'm still leaning towards this is baseball. We're not as good as we looked, we're not as bad as we look. We're still good enough that getting hot at the right time can snag a national championship. We're not so good that we can cruise to a super without playing around our average.

I am perfectly okay with our head coach not telling his future opponents how to game plan against him.
