That’ll be great. Let some of the teams and kids have some closure and joy for what could have been.

And then we can do our brackets to see how far RU goes and who wins the tourney!

Except there could be a team whose only chance at the NCAAs was winning its conference tourney and since they were all canceled that throws a monkey wrench into this idea.

Who cares? The Big Ten didn't have a tournament at all until 20 years ago. The Ivy League didn't have anything either until they added the 4 team tournament about 5 years ago. When Hank Gathers died on the court in 1990 or 1991 the West Coast Conference ended the tournament and just granted the bid to the #1 seed Loyola Marymount. Most of the small conferences already had their tournaments and selected a champion. Mostly just the big boys left and most teams that would've won these big tournaments would've been in any way.

Teams have played 30 games already - plenty of time to build a resume without needing an automatic bid. Just give them a consolation prize to say they earned NCAA bid is nice gesture. Zero downside to doing this.

There is literally no reason to not do this except if you hate fun. There is 1% of the people who will care that will say don’t do it. 99% will want it. If you don’t want it you don’t need to be near college basketball and you don’t need to be in charge of any college athletics committee or organization

Your complete lack of sympathy, empathy, and/or respect for the kids who busted their asses all year for this reward -SPECIFICALLY for the seniors - is stunning. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Your actually right. I was wrong to post that and it did show a clear lack of sympathy for a group of players who accomplished something not done here in 30 years. . I guess it was Just out of frustration of a long week I apologize for that post.

The seniors deserve it, no matter if it is Marquette or Rutgers. Kids can say they made the tourney.

Am I the only one who thinks we would have beaten Kansas ... all confident with their home fans there .. thinking they were cruising to the final four and then start trying ... those soft hay bailers wouldn’t have known what hit them when Jacob Young took over and Geo / Ron shot the lights out

The conferences would award a champion whichever they want- e.g. FSU and Yale were already declared champions of their leagues.
