The 1-out walk changed the trajectory of that entire inning and, obviously, the game. And DeCaro struck that kid out. The big zone (especially low) allowed their SP time to settle in, while critical squeezes on DeCaro had the opposite effect. However you explain the heater the OU bats are on right now, you cannot give them extra chances. We did that with the glove for sure, but that inning quite possibly never gets to the dropped foul tip if there’s 2 out and the bases empty. Hell, even the crew noted later in the inning that DeCaro had to strike a hitter out on strike 5.Well you know I’m going to post here! While the score looks ugly, that drop by Colin changed the game IMO. It should have been an easy out. We had way too many uncharacteristic defensive errors, which I don’t see happening again. Having Ryan and Caden fresh is huge. My biggest concern is the bottom of the lineup not producing. I think they will though, and we will win it all on Monday.
We’re going to need the OU bats to come back to reality, but anyone else calling balls and strikes is a step in the right direction.
