Yeah Texas Tech guys were so good they only gave up 373 points in 2018...Finished 5-7 losing 5 straight in Big 12 going 3-6. Giving up 449 yards a game. Awesome defensive players. Yahhooooo! Their defense is no better than WVU. Two players don't make a team. Preseason rankings and last years stats mean nothing for current season. Just like I said this is based on past not present.

Their problem last year was QB injuries.
They played a few different QBs.

They shut down WV for a lot of the second half last year.

Yards and PPG are determined by possession.

Key stats to look at are red zone percentage and yard per play.
Not PPG or YPG

10 possessions for 21 points 356 yards is actually worse than

15 possession 28 points 450 yards.

They are going through the same thing as WV but they are bringing in more than they are kicking out.
I think WV has more energy around the program. No one in Lubbock really thinks Matt Wells is the guy.
WV fans are more supportive of their new coach. On paper they have a better team but negativity is a hard thing to handle if you never experienced in before.
Matt Wells really hasn't. Been at no name schools is whole career.

There were hits on both sides of that game that changed both seasons.
WV knocked out Bowman
Tech hit Grier that may or may not have gave him a concussion.
Grier wasn't nearly the same until after the bye week.

You argue for the sake of arguing. He was hit in the game and start rushing throws. Overthrew three or four WRs. Luckily Washington made a big play in that game.

Texas Tech brings more back on paper.
I truthfully don't think that matchup with WV will determine bowl eligibility.
A lot of predictions say it will. Luckily WV is at home if it is.

So the player should have been kicked out of the game for targeting. Typical Big 12 bias against WVU. Tech will once again bring up the top tier of the rear.
