Nah, man. If that's your final analysis on Haarberg, there are at LEAST two "delusionals" in here, lol. The kid is taking his lumps basically like a freshman and his throwing motion needs help, but no way do I write him off as a guy who won't improve. I don't know how anyone could say 'this is all he's ever going to be.' Development is a thing at every level.

Call me even more delusional, because that's the same thing I say about Sims, but I'd say I'm more sure of it with Haarberg just because this program is a part of his identity. They'll both work hard; Heinrich has cared about the N longer, so is more likely to push.
Well thought out response and you're right, the kid has a lot of room to grow.

Haarberg has my respect, he's in a spot where he's being asked to grow up every week in front of our eyes at Nebraska where he's the second most recognizable figure in the state other than the Head Coach.

Maybe my comments about HH were heavy handed. Maybe I was poking a fellow poster who I find comically defensive on the subject...

Either way, Go Big Red.

HH and Kong don't need me to defend them but are people really forgetting how bad Purdy has looked in the past. Lacking arm strength and admitted he gets too nervous. I think he had one good drive and promptly hurt himself.

Maybe his arm has gotten stronger, but I doubt it. If HH gets injured I'd rather see Sims first. That's how bad Purdy has been.
He had off season arm surgery. I suspect his arm would look much better. Rhule said in fall that Purdy had it over Heinrich in the passing game. My biggest desire to see isn’t arm strength. It’s finding open guys and quickly making the right decisions in the passing game. Heinrich has looked lost in that regard at times

so by all means lets stump for a kid with a worse completion percentage (44%)

makes perfect sense

here's purdy's attempt vs CU. lollipop:

no ****.

zero zip out of his hand, just like always.

I thought only sidearmers had their passes tipped at the line?
Why would you think that? Lots of passes get tipped.

Throwing sidearm probably leads to more tips.

it's "coach speak" when Rhule says he's coaching HH for next year and the year after and believes he's a winner just this week

but when Rhule says anything about purdy prior to the season it's gospel

I'll take double standard for $400

If he can't get the ball there what's it matter if he sees the open guy. I suspect if his arm strength was so improved we would have heard about it.

The "I told you so" bs on this board is hilarious. I support HH as a Husker. I hope he starts next year as an H-Back/Slot Receiver. I hope we have a different QB. I hope it's Arch Manning. I hope after Arch Manning throws his first pick as a Husker that people aren't clamoring for Purdy. HH starts because he's the best of bad. Coaches made a mistake with Sims and corrected it by having him sit. I am confident that be acknowledging their mistake with Sims, they've proven that they can reanalyze things and make adjustments. I'm sure they review the QB position daily. It's probably the case that every day, they don't see anything that makes another bad QB give us a better chance to win.

Keep looking: Top two odds on Heismann winners and their former school prior to entering the portal. They are out there but you have to be crafty and opportunistic. Football's hard.

Nix just set the record for most college games played by a QB in history

Penix's OC at Indiana became the HC at UW and followed him, just like Caleb Williams
