I believe Pope’s message is going to be to his agent, find me a good realtor.
He really doesn't understand the assignment.
But we have all these know it alls who know better than us
There’s a defined difference in working and working well.
Dude I like your optimism but eventually you gotta realize this is a failed project we are looking at guys ranked in the 300s and a 7”5 center who can’t do anything. We can all suffer next year and sit back and see who we hire. I wanted him to succeed but he just doesn’t have the pedigree it is what it is. Most see it now and it’s going to be bad.
Sad times. Hate to see a former player struggle as our coach. Anyone that thinks injuries was our problem instead of lack of talent, go see what our former players are ranked that transferred out. The JQ injury was already known and he still got top dollar from our program. He was the only guy that I feel like could have made an impact if healthy.
I still like his original message when the portal opened. Still waiting Mark still waiting..

I’m among those who really wanted Mark Pope to succeed as head coach at UK. But two full seasons at the helm have shown me that he doesn’t have the personality or the near-maniacal internal drive the position requires. I remain convinced Mark Pope is an incredibly bright and genuinely nice guy. But he isn’t UK head coach material.

PR self-own. Would have been a great message to post after he landed a complete and promising portal class.
At least Bruiser Flint could chew gum. I’m not sure Fox could even do that.
My point was he is obviously working but doing a terrible job. Was that lost in translation?
Probably marking out the word "Pope" and replacing it with "Fox" at every opportunity. Taking one for the team.
I’ve been pretty much keeping up with your posts and you seem legit and seem to be a level headed and knowledgeable UK basketball fan. But there comes a time when you should probably just re-shuffle the deck. Most everything you thought would happen just didn’t happen. I know you threw in a lot of disclaimers but your predictions didn’t come to fruition. I’m not trying to offend you but at this point I think you should regroup and start over. Pope’s beyond a disaster and I think that made even the best fans look bad. Hopefully we’ll be back.
I think Pope is actually deluded enough to believe he is doing a good job, and is on the cusp of true greatness.
I agree with this. Thinks he’s too smart to need a true GM.
Nice guy, but we know where nice guys finish in college sports.
Every one that he gets going forward will “fit the system” and wants to play for “the name on the front of the jersey”!
