Where else can a coach that is currently in his 20th year and has a contract through 2026 find such a bunch of suckers? He hasn't won a Big 10 Championship since 2004, was humiliated at the Rose Bowl and Orange Bowl, currently has losing streaks against five Big Ten teams. I have Ferentz Fatigue but apparently not enough fans and donors do.

get used to it... isn't little fail-rentz going to replace daddy fail-rentz?

The spread is 7.5 in Vegas. Only in Herky fantasy land is it 10. Get a clue, I know that's a new one for our little sisters to comprehend, but keep working at it and you'll eventually get it! It really is a pretty sad state of affairs you Chokin' Chickens you live in! Everyone has delusions of grandeur every now and then, but you idiots have made a permanent home there! LOL

What do you get when you put Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny and a Good Iowa Football team in the same room together?
Nothing, as none of them have ever existed....

What the . . . SC and the EB haven’t ever existed?

Iowa is happy where they are at. They are fine consistently winning 7, 8, 9 games a year. They are fine making it to a middle of the road bowl game. They are fine being ranked off an on in the teens and twenty's. They are fine having a top 10 team once every 15-20 years. Bottom line Iowa and its fans are completely fine with being slightly above average. If they are happy then so be it.
Nebraska is different we aren't happy with those results. We want and expect more. We may be unrealistic at times, but the 2 programs just have different levels of what they see as a success. Neither are right or wrong. We just want more.

Not quite right ... Happy to have a shot at the Big10 title and CFP every 3-5 years ... sometimes it gets longer but there have been some chances since 2002. When was Nebraska's? You have a good program with great tradition, but you are no better than Iowa right now let alone Wisconsin.

Rivals is the name of this website right? Isn't the idea to get rival fans to chat about games ...

The OPs post doesn't hold water when you consider Iowa was going to be in the CFP in 2015 had they won the Big 10 title game (one stop or one good bounce here or there and they defeat MSU).

In 2009 had the QB not gotten hurt vs NW, Iowa might have played in the BCS title game (or at least been "in the hunt", which is all anyone can ask for including Nebraska).

Don't whine about the schedule either, Nebraska and Iowa will essentially have the same schedules moving forward. Win the Big10 and you are likely in.

Expectation levels are lower at Iowa than Nebraska, but I think you guys might want to be more realistic and turn the dial back a little. Iowa fans could probably turn the dial up a little too, no question about it.

No matter the program you have to cut the ifs and buts. It drives me nuts about our fans too. We lost the game. In '09 and 2015 you lost.

Nebraska has 4 posts on the first page of our board about Iowa. Iowa has 12 about Nebraska on their first page. I would say it is safe to say you are a bit more obsessed about us than we of you.

Nebraska's had as tough of a stretch as we've seen in our lifetime's over the last 20 years and have STILL played for a MNC, won a CC, played in four more CCGs, had a Heisman Trophy winner and another Heisman finalist. This is a terrible stretch for the Huskers. Terrible, and I'm not being facetious either.

So Iowa, continue to celebrate all of your "success". Nebraska is about to leave the Hawkeyes' program in the dust...again...and the only people who don't see it coming must have their heads in the sand.

All Herky has to it's name are what if's as there is zero relevance to hang their hat's on and don't see any coming in the generations to come either! It's pretty sad really that after 3 wins in a row against us, that's all they have to look forward to as we have been their super bowl every year since as they have nothing outside of that! LOL

Fair enough, but "having a shot" is what we are talking about here ... If you are able to make a run at a title every few years, be happy about it. The OP is trying to spin it like Iowa has never had a shot in 20 years ... he is wrong. Nebraska will likely never be in the same position it was in the mid 90s ... he and everyone else on here should get used to it. It's OK to strive to be dominant but to EXPECT it to happen is foolish. Good luck in the game on Friday, I expect a really good performance out of Iowa.

Yawn.... it's funny to watch you guys get chesty before we beat your a$$ then I'll come back and listen to your excuses. (Its become a yearly tradition)

double yawn . . . it'$ funny to watch herk get all te$ty before his mighty 4 loss team gets one final shot at a 7 loss Husker team at home. But then again, you have never been, and will never be, anything more than an "also-ran," so I shouldn't laugh at you. Instead I will say "good luck, I hope you can squeeze in one more victory." Maybe then you can shut down the city and have a parade.

I appreciate that is a phrase that would be uncommon in herksville, as every day is ground hog day - Wake up, suck, football team gets 6 - 8 wins, go to bed. Nothing to look forward to but sucking. You got your pom pom's ready for the big parade to celebrate 8?! Maybe you can make a sign for the game!

CELEBRATE 8!

Make no mistake plenty of your fans will be looking up at mediocre as we go to another bowl game as you are sitting at home.

Quick question: what happens to the balloons when you guys dont score a touchdown? Ol scooter's offense doesnt have the same mojo in November in the midwest.

If nobody sells red balloons, then why would you say "Quick question: what happens to the balloons when you guys dont score a touchdown? Ol scooter's offense doesnt have the same mojo in November in the midwest." The only way there would be red balloons is if the vendors at Kinnick were selling them outside the stadium. Or do you guys sell different colored balloons? Our tradition is to let red balloons off at home games after we score. Do you have a tradition at Kinnick that the visiting team holds balloons and are allowed to only let them off after the visiting team scores a touchdown? That's a weird tradition, and the only interpretation that I can come up with based off of your super witty "quick question."

What color are the visitors balloons? I guess it is sort of neat that you do that, because you do love to throw a party when you get to 8!

Balloon's for everyone!! Do you hand out cupcakes too?

Well, you will be disappointed for the next 20 years then ... Nebraska is in a real conference now. If you get a shot at the conference title once in 4 or 5 years be happy. If you win the Big10 you will get in the CFP most likely. Get used to it, you are no better than Iowa.

We have been and will always be better than Iowa

Yes, same team. And yes, I like to have fun with Husker fans. Half my family are Huskers (poor souls). Plus it is so easy.

I really don’t think the game will be close. Our offensive and defensive lines will mail yours. We’ll all find out on Friday.

The only reason you came close in 2015 to the Big10 title was due to a very easy schedule - Any team has a shot in one game, Iowa proved it did not belong when Stanford blew them out

Prior to 2011 and NU joining the Big10 - iowa always claimed titles as their record showed them tied in some cases even though they lost the head to head. Iowa has not won the big10 and gone to rose bowl since 1990. In fact you have played in a total one real confer title game. NU has played in the title game in 2009,2010 and 2012

Do you know how many haters said in the mid to late 80s "Nebraska will never have a chance to be like they were in the 70s" Guess what, we were better. Nebraska is Nebraska for a reason. It isn't just a 5 or 10 year thing. It is a lifetime thing. Yes we will have our down stretches, but will will always be able to climb back to the top. I have a feeling our top is coming around again. Domination, destruction and NCs will follow.

Yeah the 90's is not attainable except if you name is Bama. Just not happening. I think if you talk to a lot of Husker fans, they aren't thinking that whatsoever. Baby steps. I'll be excited once we win the west .

You just created a straw man to talk to yourself.... here I'll rephrase so you might understand. When playing at memorial stadium in Lincoln it is a tradition for the home fans to release balloons when the home team scores a touchdown. What happens with the balloons when the home team "huskers" do not score a touchdown?

No, I was responding to your "quick question." I would suggest you slow down on typing out your question so that your brain can keep up. Type slooooowly. Your understanding of the tradition is incorrect (can you believe it?). Balloons are released on the first score.

I do not know who is going to win but I can tell you I will be laughing my *** off if Neb does win this game Friday cause the Hawkeye fans here on this board think it is a foregone conclusion and think it will be a blow out. Might happen. However just as I would not predict that happening I will also not predict that Neb even wins this game. That is why they play the game! The arrogance being shown however is just past a little sickening already!

Was not 2015 a year in which you played Indiana and maryland as your cross over games and did not play either MI,OSU or PSU? you then lost to MSU and were blasted by Stanford

That is the very definition of an easy schedule

I really do not think NU will use Iowa as a template for where our expectations should be in fact your statement says it all
You're right we did play at Nebraska that year so it was a pretty easy schedule.

Best! Year! Ever! Only 2 losses and extra special super duper neato bandito rings! I bet you made the day for the fellas at the local trophy shop with that order. Prolly doubled their average sales figures for the day
