Using the same area rules they have in place today, I probably would’ve been playing in this tournament 35 years ago. Unfortunately, the population of “lil Warshington” is about 1/2 of what it was in 1990. Back then the team was solely made of kids who played in the Washington organization and those of us in the neighboring ones who played against them regularly had to enter into the host area tournament.
