We’re stuck at #5.

What kind of team are you that you get swept at home and your opponent doesn’t even get a bump in the polls?

Typical Landsharks. They don’t even lose right.

Maybe the polls don’t mean much in the grand scheme of things, but it’s hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that we didn’t even move up one spot after sweeping a Top 15 team on the road.

All teams in front of us except UCLA dropped at least one game this weekend, and Stanford was by far the least impressive. I feel like we should’ve moved to #3 at a minimum, but whatever I guess

Vandy even moved up a spot from 3 to 2 with a loss at home to Missouri (D1 baseball)? Now they did have the midweek win against Louisville so I'm sure that helped.

Still trying to figure out why Stanford is ranked ahead of State and Arkansas. Yeah they have a great record, but they are only 3-3 vs. RPI top 50. We are 23-10 (!) and Arky is 19-8.

Stanford is the outlier there for sure.

I expect us to get the 4th overall seed behind UCLA, Vandy, and Arkansas. I'm still not sold on Vandy, as Arkansas is their only good conference series win.

Because they were there before and have not yet lost a series. Polls are reluctant to move any team down if they have not lost a series.

The guys over at D1 Baseball have posted as much on their website. Have said they do believe we are a better team and are more deserving of a higher-ranking than Stanford, but their formula includes a piece that dictate they do resist moving any team down if they have not lost a series. This week they moved them down one spot, below Vandy. Both teams won their series, Vandy home vs #14 RPI Mizzou, Stanford @ #37 RPI Cal. To me, this looks like them trying to correct a little, while recognizing they can't justify more of a move down without trashing a part of their ranking philosophy.

They are doing all they can to keep the Pac 12 relevant. In any sport.

I generally like Boyd's ISR, but this time it's a case of GIGO. His ISR also says Stanford has played a tougher schedule than we have. That's laughable.

Yeah, it doesn't really pass the eyeball test but his ISRs tend to be more friendlier to western schools than the RPIs.

And...how does the #11 team...get swept away at HOME...and only drop 4 spots to #15? #makesnosense

The only one I really want to complain about in front of us is Stanford. Alabama would be the 3rd toughest opponent they have faced to this point in the season.

Vandy is elite. We learned the hard way about Arky. And UCLA had a tremendous noncon that's carrying it through a top heavy pac12.

I pay a lot more attention to D1’s postseason projections than their Top 25 polls. Ironically in those they’ve had us as a national seed for weeks and Stanford not as a Top 8 seed.

It’s obvious that our resume dwarfs Stanford’s right now, but I also get why they are ranked so highly in the polls. Only one series loss all year and it was to the number one team in the country.
