I thought this would be interesting, to see what the majority of posters on here feel will be the starting five for UK this year. I know there's varying opinions on the subject. Anyway, y'all get the idea. Let's go.

EDIT: Would only allow me to input ten choices. Not sure if there's any way around it. I was gonna add Wynyard and Calipari. Seriously doubt anyone has either starting, although, I will try to add them if possible and/or necessary. Hopefully, this will suffice.

I'm not following you here. I haven't even voted, nor have I stated who I thought the starters would be. Nice try, though. [laughing]

I think UK's best five are Diallo, Knox, Vanderbilt, Washington and Gabriel. Not sure that Cal would start Diallo at pg but I'm sure it will happen at times.

That's who I voted for except Washington and Gabriel switch.
I wanted to put Gabriel in the starting 5 really bad. I was thinking about maybe adding him to the starters and bringing Vanderbilt off the bench first. Vanderbilt is the definition of a spark plug type player. I just think Vanderbilt does too many positive things on the court to not start him. I can also see bringing Washington off the bench, as you stated.

Edit: Really surprised that SGA hasn't received one vote yet. That won't last long, IMO.

I think Richards starts later in the year. Too foul prone and raw to start now, can't remember the last raw big Cal started when he had more than one legit option

Only because he has a year of experience I think weynen get the start at the four. He's a high energy guy packing a lot more beef(pun intended) with his workouts this offseason. It will be hard to not start him as he is rentless on the boards, plays d, and can even shoot a little

I curious of SKJ and AXMAN's progress.. I All ways liked the Axman's ability to use his body on rebounding and think he can be a Josh Harellson type player for us off bench. I feel he like he has legit potential and is on the verge of finding and unlocking it. If we can get him to be a legit back up in paint that will just make us very dangerous. I all ways liked him better then Issac.

Its gonna be interesting whichever lineup Cal goes with, I picked Green Diallo ,Knox, Richards and Vanderbilt but I think Gabriel, SKJ or Washington will all rotate, can't wait for BBM:popcorn:

There will be lots of lineup variations this season, but I think by March it will be:

G Green
G Diallo
F Knox
F Washington
F Richards

I am intrigued by the possibility of Vanderbilt at the 4 and Washington at the 5 as well. Washington has the muscle (240 lbs.), the length (7'4 wingspan), and the motor to defend the 5, if Cal decides to go that route. I think he still starts a traditional lineup, though, even if he uses the smaller lineup a lot.

Tai averaged something like 14 points and 9 boards in the U19 and was really impressive from what I've read. SKJ was working out with a personal trainer and supposedly is in great shape. That's about all that I know. Maybe someone else can contribute more about their progress. I'm curious also.

This was my first thought when seeing this apparent nickname of Wynyard.

On a serious note, I voted: Green, Diallo, Knox, Vanderbilt and Washington. Gabriel would be my first off the bench, then SGA. Damn, we're gonna have a deep bench this year. :scream:
I voted the same. Gonna be very hard to sit Washington, Knox, or Vanderbilt. If I was coach I would start Green, Knox, Vanderbilt, Washington, and Richards. I just don't think outside of highlight dunks and rebounds, Diallo has as much substance to his game. How does he pass? How well does the ball move when he is on offense? How does he shoot? We will find out.
