Why does the weird guy in the office love KSU?

There’s a guy I work with who grew up in Nebraska & graduated from UNL but his office is full of Kansas St memorabilia & chachis. He has no ties to Kansas St. He just says he stopped being a Husker fan in the 90s.
I’m kinda afraid to ask him about this further because he’s known to be extremely sensitive & gets triggered easily.

I have ideas why he switched aligences. Vote & provide other opinions below.

I agree just ask him. The worst that would happen is he might cry & OP has to go to sensitivity training.

I’d say it’s worth it.

Is he married? If so, is his wife a KSU fan or alum? Maybe his wife won't give him any if he doesn't pledge full KSU allegiance.

Every time someone mentions Kansas State, I think of that stupid, melon headed powercat mascot. Ugh. Man, I complain about Lil Red but that thing is horrible!

You must have been abused by a kstate fan at one time and they put you over their lap and spanked you. Move on. This seems like the poll of a third grader.

I live close to the Kansas boarder the older generation are pretty decent to get along with it's the younger generation that are difficult to deal with there pretty smug and want to talk **** the fastest way to shut them up just ask them how many national championship trophies even conference championship trophies then they usually crawl back in there cave, but of course you have that one that just won't go away so you tell them good luck in conference USA when the big 12 finally dies

Sounds a lot like our own younger fan base considering we haven’t done jack either since our last trophy. We should probably take a lesson as well and just enjoy the process of where this is hopefully headed. What have we done in the b10 that gives us any bragging rights? Getting pounded by Iowa?
