Polk to UAB?

Has anyone heard anything about Polk going over to UAB to help out Shoop as a volunteer coach? A friend/client whose son was at a recent baseball camp at State mentioned it.

I haven't heard anything, but it's believable.

Maybe Cohen was doing him a favor by letting him hang out some to prove "that he is sane".

It would be good for our players that Cohen kicks off this year because that will give them the option of Arkansas State or UAB.</p>

That was the amazing thing about Polk- his teams would occasionally nut up and do something like that.

Of course, at the same time it was frustrating because I was always like "where was this ALL YEAR?"</p>

Hell we missed the SEC tourney and LT had to screw over LSU to even get us in a regional.

Wrong. The CWS run was a year after that. Also when that happened in 2006, we had a better RPI than LSU and beat them 2 of 3 at their place. Their 13-17 SEC was better than our 12-17 by a rainout. LSU did get screwed (their RPI was in the high 30's), but we're not the ones who stole that bid from them.

Just look at his record at MSU from 1991-1997 and 2002-2008. We did make it to 2 CWS during that time, but overall those 14 years were pretty lackluster by MSU standards.
