Guys, I've issued a few warnings already this morning, it's not something I've ever clarified so no bans are being handed out at this point but it's something that this board/site/etc. wants no part of and going forward, bans will be handed out freely.

And yes this will be JUST like the long-standing rules of 'PLEASE READ...'.

There are a million and one sites for you to discuss politics, this isn't one of them.

Thanks.

A few hot heads ruined it for us.

Hot heads are a part of life and you learn to deal with them. I don't think hot heads ruined it for us. I think someone needed a hug.

Sports threads were clearly titled as such. Click on those if you want to discuss sports.

Political threads were clearly titled as such. Don't click on those if you don't want to talk politics.

The truce thread was not clearly titled as such. You click on it to join the truce, only to see it was a deceitful trap.

I was jokingly asked by an old friend to put up a different song but we both agreed it wouldn't be prudent. Hawkeyereport has an official O/T forum on their board like we used to have that's lively but I probably will never use it

A-ah-ahh-ah, ah-ah-ahh-ah
We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow
The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands To fight the horde and sing and cry, Valhalla, I am coming
On we sweep with, with threshing oar Our only goal will be the western shore
Ah-ah-ahh-ah, ah-ah-ahh-ah
We come from the land of the ice and snow from the midnight sun where the hot springs FLOW
How soft your fields, so green can whisper tales of gore, of how we calmed the tides of war
We are your overlords
On we sweep with, with threshing oar Our only goal will be the western shore
S-so now you better stop and rebuild all your ruins for peace and trust can win the day despite of all you're losin'

Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ahh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh Ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh, ooh-ooh

You understand cryptic Old Norse mythology better than I do. I understand fully, the cruelness of women. Well, I don't really understand the cruelness of women. Old Norse religion may be easier to grasp now that I think of it.

BTW - The day led Zeppelin III was released, I paid $3.50 for a copy at K-Mart.

As do I, gladly/sadly

I got my first copy of IV or Zoso through the folks record club and have worn out or lost several. Every time I see a stack of old vinyl for sale I still search & buy

I highly (very highly) recommend the deluxe versions of each Led Zeppelin CD released in 2014 and 2015. Lots of great extras.

Yes I will. I just played Hot Dog on the computer and will dig out the dust free vinyl copy and really enjoy it later much more amplified.
They have a song for every mood or situation

The "Hot Dog" reference was intended as purely ridiculous, but I forgot this is 2019. Humor is obsolete.

Which do you think is the most completely fantastic and solid album of theirs ? I would have to say either IV or Phys Grafitti

Probably Physical Graffiti. I'm going to post (in a single post) links to some previously unreleased versions of Zep songs you'll enjoy. Check back later.

Houses of the Holy ranks right up there as a close tie with IV & PG with me; 3 of my all-time fave selections are Over the Hills and Far Away, Dancing Days and The Ocean but the entire album is solid.

Thanks for all the instrumental pieces, they rock !

Just checked the level of water from the melting snow in Houston and it's getting close to pre-Harvey levels.

Come on V; every artist takes inspiration from before and puts new spin on, adds to etc (with possible exception of jazz) ? Explain please

I'll let the experts explain.

Of course it isn't right, but if you search for a list of musicians who have been sued for plagiarism, it reads like a Who's-Who of pop and rock music.
