We really need McConell to develop into a Pg this year. Geo needs to be off the ball. This thread isn’t meant to bash coach. It’s just that these past few games made it apparent that we’re asking Geo to do too much. I would love it if Geo was off the ball and his defender was chasing him around trying to get through screens. And if Geo is playing Pg, then the other guys need to seriously hit their threes

Thanks to OP for bringing this up. The lack of a TRUE point guard is our #1 issue. Geo doing it out of necessity, it's note his natural spot - he's running the point but still also looking to score first, this won't work. I think Pike has to tinker with the mix. Run a 3 guard offense, Caleb runs point, Geo and another (Kiss and Issa rotation) with Eugene and a big. We're just not getting the ball movement, especially against zone defenses. You would think this team was never coached how to attack a zone: crisp passing and movement without the ball to get open or easy looks.

Alot to ask from a freshman playing in the big ten. Hes shown flashes which is very encouraging. If he develops itll really give mulcahy time when he comes aboard.

I would agree Pikiel is asking Baker to do too much. At the end of he season, Pikiel might regret the decision of some of his recruiting efforts. It won’t make or break him, but it may effect how this season goes.
