We haven't had a podcast thread in a while, what's new & good?

Two I've listened to lately that I'm enjoying
- Season 4 of Slow Burn, about David Duke. Very well made & researched.
- Missing in Alaska. It's about the 1972 plane crash of then-House minority Leader Hale Boggs & Congressman Nick Begich of Alaska. This one is far more interesting than I expected, and has some organized crime twists.

Because of COVID, I overhauled my listening habits. Dropped every national CFB show (Solid Verbal, Audible, Cover 3, etc.) except one. I didn't want to hear Stuart Mandel speculate on season. Also stopped listening to Dave Ramsey because of having co-hosts everyday (chemistry is awful) and he sounds like he's starting to go the way of Don Imus.

My list...
Thunder and Lightning
Oxford Exxon
Cover 2
College Football Daily
Football Recruiting Podcast
Barton and Bud
Side note: 247 (the last three) has done a great job with content.

The best podcast out there is How Did This Get Made. They watch really, really ******, and sometimes widely popular movies, and do live shows in sold out theatres. Some of the episodes I can listen to over and over like Con Air and Hobbs and Shaw.

Doctor Death is solid. Its about the only Doctor in US history to face criminal charges over his surgical practices.

Season 1 is about referees. It starts with basketball in ep 1 but it has eps about judges, art appraisers. Really interesting. Season 2 is about coaches. I enjoyed all but the finale.

Joe Rogan is a good one I listen to a lot.

I like that he presents a good counterpoint to whoever he is interviewing. If he is interviewing someone on the right, he will bring up the left point of view. If the guest is on the left, he will present the conservative point of view.

Radio Rental is really interesting. I’ve discovered it recently and thoroughly enjoyed it. Produced by Payne Lindsey and has Rainn Wilson (Dwight Schrute) in it.

I also enjoy Crime Junkie, Dateline (it’s not overly exciting, but the stories are good), Revisionist History, Supernatural, and many more. There’s also this great one called Talk of Champions that a guy named Ben Garrett does. You would LOVE IT!

Jocko Podcast. Great commentary on self improvement and business/life leadership. For military buffs, he's got a revolving door of extremely interesting guests and good stories from his own experiences (20 year Navy SEAL veteran, Chris Kyle's unit commander during the American Sniper events).

Hardcore History is the best, especially the ancient and medieval episodes. In particular "Prophets of Doom" was a fascinating story I'd never heard of at all.

Big fan of Kill Tony for comedy.

The Quarantine episodes have been different but they still produce a good laugh or two. When they get back in a live setting, it will be great. Watch a few when they were produced in a live environment with crowd. It's on youtube and filmed each Monday. You can get audio on spotify.
