Sad that when you go to the RU Basketball page, a giant banner appears asking fans to pledge money for every win RU gets, or even every FREE THROW RU makes! The desperation for money is just sad. I get that it's what big time college athletics has come to, but nevertheless, a sad state of affairs all around.

Funny enough…the whole fanbase is chasing wins and what we all want.
It’s actually not a bad premise for people backing that type of pledge. It’s just not marketed right.

in fact, I think we need to sign coaches up for more incentive based contracts. Why give guarantees like matt Campbell when the school is not on the hook for $70mm. I get there are incentives to make more if he wins but that’s a ton of guaranteed money and not guaranteed success.

restructure pikes contract and tell him you can make $10mm per year if you can win a national championship otherwise you get $2mm and we have an easy out if you don’t succeed.

it's disgusting
People with this take should probably stop watching college sports if it bothers you that much

there’s no going backwards from this so the options are to embrace the climate and support and participate accordingly or be okay with falling further and further behind

there’s no option to stand on a pedestal and say LETS WIN and act like it’s 2019 with the rules and recruiting and transfers

I’ll give Rutgers credit for trying to be creative but people just saying disgusting, or I won’t watch, or I’m out aren’t helping

Good luck getting any coach or agent to sign on for that & schools know that in order to win they have to pay the most for who they consider the best.

I have an idea. How about giving season ticket holders $10 off towards every game next year for each loss this year.
