Would you like to throw all our traditions out while you are at it? Maybe do away with the cowbell. Get rid of Bully for some gender fluid barista?
How bout we change to school colors to rainbow stripes and have a unicorn as our mascot!

I don’t have a problem with it, so your request is denied.

You're trying aGain? Really?

Tell me, die hard Bulldog fan, who's our best pinch-hitting pitcher?

Whose name is synonymous with marbles in State baseball?

Where is the dumpster located in LFL & what's the ample trajectory to throw rocks at outfielders?

No smartass, I love all our traditions except that one. It is dated and simply sounds stupid. I cringe every time they do it and usually most folks around me laugh at it.

I agree and I also am not a fan of the monotone MAROON....WHITE. I honestly think we need more chants and more crowd involvement.

The guy announcing the start of it over the PA is what makes this so bad. The way its starts with the PA guy sounds so forced and fake that it actually kills some of the atmosphere. It sounds like a game show host with fake enthusiasm trying to get me fired up over the PA. Everybody already sees Bully in the middle of the field. Everybody already knows what to do when he holds a maroon or white rag in your direction. Just let it happen naturally and it would be a helluva lot better.

I've NEVER had anyone around me laugh.

In so far as it being "dated", aren't most traditions DATED ?

Totally disagree, BUT I do think it was and would be much better if that cheer had an ending. Back in the early 80's, it was part of the Bulldog Blitz marketing campaign:

Left side: Maroon!
Right side: White!
All together: Bulldog Blitz!

As it is now, everyone just sort of fades out saying maroon/white and it has no punch at the end. Someone ought to come up with a new phrase to end it.

Seems like we could just take the "Fight, fight, fight!" from the "Hey" song and use it there to punctuate. One side "Maroon", One side "White", All Together "Fight, fight, fight!". Right now that is really only used at the beginning and ending of games.

Maybe "Fight, Dawgs, Fight!"

Youve never heard that chant in omaha while all 27 fans of the other team and locals stand in awe

Or when 100 fans in the Swamp are so loud with it post game, Urban Meyer stops mid sentence in his presser and looks like he is gonna hurl.

Maybe it is just a scoreboard club thing, but we all seem to have fun with it. I do understand for many of us that is the liquor from your locker talking, but still traditions should practiced regardless of if they are corny. I have loved it since I was a kid, I can see it maybe being not as cool at basketball or baseball games. I have never seen anyone cringe or laugh at it, and I have been to every home football since 1986.

We should just put Candyman down on the field and let him be our very own Mr. Two Bits.

You are SO right about this. For years it has just gone on until it kinda fades away, usually quite awkwardly like the song that doesn't end. A proper ending is SORELY needed and would make it 10X better. Someone suggested the fight, fight, fight ending and that would be OK but I'd kinda like to see us do something different than copying the ending of another cheer even if its just GOOO DOGS!

Probably should go with Hailstate to end it?
