All right. Just to start a discussion as the season isnt here yet, Im throwing something out there being a bit of a jerk and a naysayer/devil's advocate.

Watched a few videos that Husker online put up on Youtube. Call me crazy but Benhart looks like he's a bit of a T-rex. Short stubby arms relative to his size. Bet I'm totally wrong but will this be a handicap for him?

But just for fun saying it now. Brant Banks will be a better all around OT than Benhart.

If you go back to the 90’s, it sometimes looked as if Zach Weigert had T Rex arms, but he did ok. It’s the strength in those arms and hands that are hopefully ready for competition in a few weeks.

Im sure you're right. Just looked odd to me in the video clips of them repping drills, and I thought it would be fun to discuss.

My guess....what we see now will be nothing like what we see from him when we are playing our final game. Any issues he’s showing now will be fixed by Austin...he’s a great Oline teacher. Glad we got him...GBR

Are his arms going to grow? That was the OP's reasoning for Banks beating him out eventually.

Lol...I think we all know Benhart doesn’t have short arms. And yes Austin can definitely teach him how to use his arm length better. Without a doubt.

Here is a snipet of the 247 evaluation.

Tall, high cut build with little bad weight. Large frame that can flawlessly carry well over 300 pounds without sacrificing athleticism. One of the more physically imposing offensive tackles in the 2019 cycle. Has shorter arms, particularly for his height, which could affect his longterm trajectory at tackle

IMO, Banks is more athletic, so is Fritsche, either of those could be Left OT and Benhart a dominant Right OT. But I'm often wrong but never in doubt!

If your feet are good, your technique good, and you already have size advantage, arm length is lessened as a liability.
