Simpson throws an errant pass to an unaware Mulchay, with RU up 6 and less than 5- seconds to go.

I get that it didn't cost us the game...and that Simpson is a frosh....but talk about Basketball IQ.

But i think this idiotic "sportsmanship" has got to stop. Simpson should watch that play until he NEVER makes a play like that again.....ever!

On the plus side Simpson did make both of his free throws (we almost lost the game because of poor FT shooting) ....and he hit a midrange jumper....so maybe he was just overly excited.

Watch it again. Paul turned his back on Derek when he was in mid-air. One can debate if Derek needed to leave the ground, but he had Paul wide open when he did and then was left with nowhere to go. I agree Derek was shaky out there at times, but this wasn't on him.

This is not on him. This was Paul’s fault. Frosh was giving the veteran the ball to run out the clock. Paul wasn’t paying attention.

That was completely on Paul. He turned to the crowd right in front of us to pump everyone up. Mental mistake that I’m sure won’t happen again.

IMO the pass to Paul wasn't needed : That's all.

I don't get why the rest of the board doesn't get that? MSU was letting us dribble out the game.
We already lost one game due to a F' Up on the Refs (OSU).
A 6 point lead could have been swallowed up by a 3, steal and another 3....forcing OT.

Or the dreaded 3 + foul (remember when we won one on that play in the Big East)?

Simpson, Paul or whomever, PLAY THE ENTIRE GAME until the horn sounds: PERIOD!

Regardless of whether the pass was needed or not, if Paul was facing the court and the man with the ball instead of staring off into the crowd, he catches that and this is not an issue for anyone. That's on Paul.

That was Paul's error checking out and focusing on the crowd.
