Would you take the play-in game right now?

I know, I know....given where we were (prior to losing 4/6), I'd be disappointed. But, it beats the alternative of not making the tourney. So, I pose this question: At this stage (4 games remaining + at least 1x BIG10 tourney), would you sign up for being in the tourney, but it's the play-in game in Dayton?

Begrudgingly, I'd say yes because the risk of not making it would be too much for me to stomach at this stage having come so close. And the joy of seeing our name called on Selection Sunday would be amazing.

Funny, this exact thought came to my mind as I was opening the page for the boards. Interested to see how everyone thinks overall. Give me the play-in game, even though it's not the tournament proper, it's still the tournament. Crazy thinking back at the start of the season that we'd be "disappointed" in a play-in game at this point.

I said No.
If it was between play in and NIT ,then play in

If we sign up for play in, win next 3 more down the stretch, I want to be in Real tournament.

First four is play in game, (Regardless of NCAA saying round 1)

let's say you get there and lose, I wouldn't feel like we made NCAA tournament and broke the streak(it would be an asterisk)

I'm ready to kick the door down and be firmly in. I think we win 2 more games and get a legit spot.

That's not the question. The question is I can guarantee you play-in right now. Or, you have the opportunity to play the next 5x games and earn a "truer" bid and not the play-in game.
Amazing how some people missed what you asked.

Well, the question doesn't say: guaranteed play in game only, vs. letting it play out. The second option says the play in games are not an option. If we win one more game and land in Dayton, that's not covered by the 2nd option.

Ask me Sunday night and I might change my mind if we don't beat the Badgers, but for now I might let it play out and see if we earn a spot in the field of 64 rather than guarantee a spot as 65 to 68.

For me, it depends, if that's the only thing we deserve.. okay.. if we deserve better.. I'll take it but complain about it.

Take it? Hell, I predicted it back in October in the official Rutgers prediction thread !

And I’ll be glad to be a few notches hire and not have to play Tuesday or Wednesday !

I don't really understand the question. As of today, I would be disappointed if we ended up in the play-in game, but
bye > play-in game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> NIT

Oh, I should've read this first.

I would not sign up for the play-in game right now.

Bird in the hand.

Not to mention the NCAA Tournament payment the school gets.

Has any team ever rejected an invitation to March Madness ? Once invited, it's a lock and Everybody can watch you play the play-in game too.

I dont have exact results but first 4 winners have had success. I think all but 1 year the at large winner won another game. NC State went to sweet 16, VCU went to the final 4. It's not glamorous but its not awful
