I am trying to get through the day, I am tired and my students are taking a test.
Play along here, would you rather:
1. Duke go 40-0 and coach K ride off into the sunset or
2. Duke go 39-1, still win the national championship and K keep coaching?

Ok I'll be the dissenter. #1. He basically drops the mic as they say and is forever remembered as the greatest coach in the history of American sports. The team does something that nobody has ever seen before and are legends forever. You know that song by Fall Out Boy? "Remember me for centuries", yeah that would apply to a 40-0 Duke team.

I get what you’re saying. The tarhole fans would have to live with that forever.

2....I don't know if we have identified his heir apparent yet. There are many qualified people who have been mentioned in past discussions, but until we know for sure who we want to take the reins, I am fine with any season that ends with K adding to his resume with another natty.

K's gonna go some time soon anyway,so i'll take 40-0...has not been done since 1976,that will put this team in the history books,he's coming back regardless,he's far from done,so 40-0 would just add to his legacy.

I'll take #1.
We beat UK in Elite 8
Beat KU in Final 4
Beat the Holes in Nat Championship.

K retires and the rest is history

If coach is still feeling energetic and motivated, number 2.

If coach is starting to lose his edge, option 1.

He looks pretty happy, so I'm hoping we get 3-5 more seasons.

Prefer #2. Would only prove to everyone he still has it. Not saying he doesn't have it, but at 71, coaching kids young enough to be his grandchildren is nothing short of impressive.

If anyone has gone to a game at Cameron, you can fully understand why he has been there as long he has. The place just erupts when he walks out to the floor. The crazies worship the man.

Just going by the choices I’d go with #2 because we still win #6 and get Coach K at least another season but I like the way jwill thinks because that would be titles #6 & #7. I just want to see us win this season and Coach K be around until at least through the 2020-2021 season so we push our “apolis” championship streak to 7 in “apolis” cities. Plus in jwill’s scenario, if we were to win titles #6 & #7 this season and next season then if we win in Indianapolis in 2021 that would be title #8 and that would probably cause RR to destruct and never be heard from again. Of course this is all just hypothetical and wishful thinking but man it would be awesome if it happened.
