I made my share of "row the boat back to st. paul" comments yesterday but watching him in the press conference he really comes off like a positive, articulate, down to earth and well adjusted leader.
On the contrary, I get the sense he is a total a-hole and that everybody who works with him wants to get out ASAP.

He comes off as a circus barker especially when he claimed that RU got everybody back & healthy after the bye week except for Kyle, guess he missed the 7 starters out for the season not coming back

PJ is a very high energy guy who was an amazing recruiter when he was on our staff. He really looks up to Schiano, or at least used to. Like Schiano, he seems like he is a program builder and most of the kids seem to like to play for him. I spoke to a member of the Manny football support crew, and the person said that they liked working for him. I think that he is a good match for Minnesota.

Always leery of leaders with excess high energy and pep rally theatrics and slogans. You wonder if that energy could be expended doing the day job

I like PJ
Seems like a genuinely good guy
Could do without the Row the Boat slogans and theatrics though

I wonder if he ever got a bigger job within the conference (Nebraska, MSU, Iowa, Wisconsin) if he'd be permitted to use the boat moniker at those places

Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes. It fits there. He brought it from Northern Illinois when he was hired.

I think you mean Western Michigan, but point taken
I just assume if he takes a better job, they're going to tell him no dice w/the slogan and paddle on the helmets

I believe he has a nice gig where he's at especially considering the new CFB landscape. He's not far from his roots and makes $6 million a year. I believe that fanbase is very realistic about expectations.....

I agree, I can see him staying there for awhile, maybe even becoming like Kirk Ferenz at Iowa
But if another big program calls and pays $$$, it would be hard to turn down

He does have a nice gig and a new stadium and he's in one of the Power Two conferences. Unless he totally blows it, Minnesota won't rush to fire him, like in some places, so why would he ever leave? Of course, don't be surprised if his name emerges for Rutgers after Greg retires.
