The difference for me between the two games is that I hated Notre Dame long before Harbaugh got to Michigan, and I will hate Notre Dame long after he leaves. So I root for Michigan.
In this case, my hatred for Penn State doesn't have nearly that kind of history. But it's intense, wholesome and pure. So I root for Pittsburgh.

why would anyone here want to do well? We are going to why would anyone here want to do well? We are going to lose recruits the Penn State we do not want pit to succeed and have to fight them for recruits as well
Recruits will come here because we win not because of the outcome of this game. Hail to Pitt. PSU can't lose enough for my liking. Hate that place.

1) The only recruits this game will influence are the ones who are considering PSU and Pitt. They can go to PSU and wait their turn or choose Pitt with a chance to play right away.

3). RU will recruit based on what RU has to offer. Basing your recruiting strategy on other schools failure is a dumb strategy. If you believe players will come here only because their other choices aren't doing well than why are you a fan of this school. I want kids to come here because of what we are not because of what Pitt isn't. Go root for someone else.
Hmmm...I'm going to be in Pittsburgh from Thurs. nite through Sunday morning with free time Saturday night...wonder if it is worth my while to see if I can get into the game.
It's really hard to come up with a scenario in which I would root for the Fighting Sanduskys.

RU4Real,Say hello to my nephew. He went to his first game the other night. L oves everything about the school. I was going crazy for weeks as he was strongly considering Sandusky State.
Yes, if they have the grades to get into the main campus as an out of state freshman, than they pretty much have the grades to get into most schools outside of the Ivies and a few other highly selective schools. Again, talking about University Park, not the satellite campuses. Therefore, there are plenty of other alternatives for your kids, I don't see it as an unreasonable condition for parental funding.
I'm still pissed that App. St. rb broke those tackles and scored with too much time left.
