Consistent recruiting classes ranked around 30 to 40 coupled with a good game plan and we too can pull off some upsets here and there as well...also as much as Narduzzi is a d***, he brings fire and a much needed gameday hype that someone needs to do for us
Pitt has a really good coach who can recruit and win the big one. Shame we didn't give him a look.
Imagine - a coach who thinks his team can beat a top team. How refreshing.
The 1st time, he took issue with the gun & ski mask & less $. Who knows what happened the 2nd time.
PITT has a coach who just won his first game as an underdog in nearly two years. PITT's recruiting also sucks.
Pump the brakes a bit. He's a straight shooter so people act like he's way better than he is.
Very close. He wanted a shot. Some of the north parochial coaches wanted him. Hobbs was already in love with Ash's interviewing skills.

Funny, because your tMB brethren have said the exact same thing as me. To boot, their #1 gripe has been how disappointing his recruiting has been.

The reason you aren't disputing what I said is because all of it is true. Until today, close losses were his biggest wins. Congrats for him getting on the board.

I get where you're coming from i just have respect for everything they've been through the past years with the embarrassing coaching changes which effected recruiting but no denying they've been playing there azzes off this year.
Yeah, they've had a rough stint with coaches bolting...no doubt.
You have to remember that I am 45 and my hatred of PITT is strong and always will be. Just the way it is. That being said, I often think that Narduzzi gets the same treatment O'Brien did...people love him and overrate him because they like him. Meanwhile, Franklin has a big mouth and some flare and people treat him the complete opposite. I get it, but that doesn't mean I agree with it.
Although many have been critical of his refusal to change his scheme, I have not. I get what he is doing and why. I did think he would have better recruiting results because of his "new car smell" but that simply hasn't happened.
Pitt a very veteran team that has enough talent to beat you. They just can't play consistently. They will probably in typical Pitt fashion drop one of their next two games. They start 12 seniors this year. They are in deep trouble next year and probably will struggle to even make a bowl. Connor likely leave meaning they only return 9 starters. In addition lose another 6 seniors in their two deep.
You can't really comment on Pitt recruiting this year until NLI day in February.

His recruiting sucked his first year and it sucks this year. Franklin's recruiting this year sucks as well.
I've said Narduzzi is a solid coach and obviously today's win is a tremendous win but I think people get carried away in the moment of a game or even a season as I've said before. I think he brings passion and instills that passion in his players and fire in his players to believe in themselves, that sort of intangible factor that may allow them to perform above their talent at times.
Admittedly I don't watch them a lot but from what I've seen they always seem to be locked in close games whether the competition is top level like Clemson or just your average team out there. So it's hard to say one game performance translates into the next. Playing so many close games you're bound to win some and lose some. They're usually in a battle. So a good solid coach but wouldn't get carried away off this tremendous win, on top of their win against PSU too. Funny enough coming from MSU with that defensive reputation I don't know that his team has been that strong on defense this season. His offense has probably been better than you'd expect too.

Yet, he beat Penn st. And it could of been real ugly if he didn't put the breaks on the offense. I mean Pitt was winning 31-7 at one point.

This years Pitt class is not ranked that high CURRENTLY. I think around 45th. However, Pitt is on a ton of 4 star and high 3 star players who are real close to pulling the trigger. Throw in 5 star Wade. And the facts will show Penn st doesnt recruit that much better than Pitt.
