Pretty simple, they have a contract in place for a certain rate of pay for a certain amount of time. If they want out of the contract, they owe a certain amount. How is that hard to follow?

Not hard to follow...doesn't make it any less stupid. -Hey Johny, cut my grass for the year for $1000. Johny cuts grass for two weeks and burns it to the ground...Sorry Johny I owe you almost $1000 to go away. That's fn STUPID!

All I can say to the NCAA is............

UNC first, then we'll deal with the scandal at Louisville.

And does VJ King (the lone Pitino McD-AA) work out a way to change his mind?

I may be confused at what type of clients you have. If you hire Johnny and give him a contract, then you break it (without express cause in the contract), then you owe him the balance. Guess what would happen in court. The moral of the story is, good coaches are rare and good contracts are required to keep them. Sometimes the coach stinks and walks away smelling like a rose. Just part of the business.

That was also after the season, April 8th...not leaving...May 7th...see ya later.
This just smells like "Don't look at Cal. or UK or our (UL) problems...look how I am wanted"
I think it more smells like, Rick wants to dictate his future before somebody else has to.

Not sure why he doesn't just follow Cal's approach and shoot it down straight away, if he's not interested.
He could actually be interested in the job. It would not be in his best interest to announce it at this time.... His answer to the press was appropriate.

UNLV has no better morals than UL if they go this route.

I'd prefer UL just to continue to be led by Pitino.

But pitino needs to get out in front of it.

Bad karma for UL, it only takes 3 seconds to say "I'm not going anywhere"

Of course it took 15 seconds to say the opposite to Sypher

He has 12 seconds to play with So to speak.
