I think, IMO, it's almost a given he will be back on the sidelines next season at UofL. Why else would he still be on the road recruiting for us? I think Jurich and Ramsey have already told Rick they are with him 100%

I agree. I think if RP was going to resign or be removed, it would have happened at the same time as the self imposed ban. That was the opportune time.

I agree that it's looks like he'll be here and I hope that he is considering that he's the best option available to UofL to pull things back from the brink.

With that said, you could make the argument that him leaving at the time of the ban would have been the absolute worst time (operationally speaking) to let him go. Furthermore since there are millions of dollars still on his contract, it's in everyone's best interest to play nice and work together until a mutually advantageous time for his departure arises.

If Rick isn't back next year it won't be because of Ramsey or Jurich. I think it will have more to do with whether Pitino feels that he can still be successful under the NCAA sanctions or not

The slower this process goes IMO the harder it will be for coach P to make up his mind on anything. If this drags on into the Summer without knowing what if any additional sanctions UofL gets, it's going to be very hard to recruit new players and stabilize the program. Rick might not want to take his chances waiting for more bad news. On the other hand this years self imposed sanctions might be all that happens. Without knowing everything that went on and who all was involved makes this extremely tricky.

Recruiting isn't everything. Rick is the best coach alive. He doesn't need superior talent (to fail) like your guy. He'll be back next season and we should have another title within 3 seasons. Write it down!

The unknown is the current biggest enemy. IYO, what did/does UL already know about pending sanctions. Did UL have some advanced knowledge before the self ban? Hope for a timely ruling.....just asking.
P.S. You won't find any negative posting by me on UL board or our (UK) board regarding this issue.........leave that to others... enough of them without me.

Hard to say what they know about pending sanctions other than they wanted to get out in front of it. I'm not 100% sure if the sanctions imposed now will help them or not. Looking at this from the outside it appears that they wanted to slap their own wriest to keep future sanctions at a minimum.

Recruiting is the life blood of the program. If someone thinks that bringing in good players is overrated, I don't know what to say about that. You can coach a player up but the ceiling for those players tend to be too low for major college basketball. There aren't many Mashburns out there that want to come to a program tied to probation. Rick is good but he's not a miracle worker.

Ramsey is dealing with his own serious issues which could lead him to be gone before all this is over. What effect would a new president have on the program once the NCAA investigation is complete and the university receives their findings. Hopefully it will all work out in the long run.

No offense to you Wildcat, but I was seeking an opinion from maybe an insider at UL. Something more than a message board rumor. I agree that RP can do more with less than just about anybody, but he still needs talent. He's got a 5* and another good recruit coming in. (?). Who goes,? I don't know the classes

I hope nobody goes anywhere we have a great formula for success in place. I want Ramsey to stay because the last thing we need is another Indiana fan like Donald Swain as our President too run our program in the ground. I want Pitino to stay because he is one of the best coaches in college basketball.

Somebody else has already posted that CRP is building another title team which I agree with, he is. I want Jurich to stay because simply put he is the best Athletic Director in the country.

I see this a sUcK topic because they have so much skin in the game. Who cares what they think, as if it really matters.
