I think all of Pitino's public comments are carefully orchestrated to position himself for the $50M buyout. The more he talks, the more he risks antagonizing the NCAA investigators, which hurts UL.more than himself personally. He is building leverage against his employer.
For someone who supposedly is not to speak about the investigation, crap is the one who has said the most about it.

Didn't Louisville hire one of UNC****'s compliance people? I expect that Louisville is lining up minor violations to use every 80 or so days to reset the clock on the NOA. Knowing Louisville, they'll be able to delay this for 38 years.
I'm not going to defend Summit's actions. He was put in a head coach position before he was mature enough to handle that. His actions were reckless, stupid, and he rightfully stepped down. However, you're comparing apples and oranges. Let's take what we know as to be fact of Rick Pitino and compare the 2 situations.
This is a man in his 50's at the time that stepped outside his marriage with a woman at a public restaurant after the establishment had been closed and the owner handed Pitino's people the keys. Pitino then engages in 15 seconds of sex on a table with this woman. He then sets her up with his equipment manager who she marries and has children with. Pitino continues to pay this woman money until she decides she wants more money and threatens him. She was trialed federally and found guilty for extortion. Pitino never apologizes for his actions. In fact, he gets angry at the media for talking about it on the day Ted Kennedy dies. Pitino doesn't step down. In fact he's given a contract extension.
Now take Summit. a 25 year old that has his first head coaching job because of his mother's name. He steps out on his marriage with a player, gets her pregnant, and resigns. Now I don't know about you but at 25, myself and a whole lot of others are still pretty immature in their lives. There isn't always the big picture in your head of what your decisions can cost you. He shouldn't do what he did but you can understand young mistakes. They happen. Pitino is twice his age. He has a legacy that he built. His reputation is on the line and he is fully aware or at least should be what the big picture is and the ramifications from mistakes. At 35, I'm a lot more aware and mature than I was at 25.
I can see where people can understand Summit's transgressions and give him an excuse. But how you can say the fanbase is being hypocritical? Pitino is getting bashed on here because he does these things, lies about it, deflects it, and plays the victim. His fan base excuses it. Summit from what I've seen has owned it after he was caught, resigned and has not defended his actions. Sure, fans are hypocritical on a lot of things but this stuff certainty isn't one of them. If Cal did half the stuff Pitino has done, you would have some defenders. You wouldn't have the majority of the fan base standing up for him. You wouldn't have contract extensions and pats on the back from the bosses.
No, you would have a new head coach. That's why UL is getting bashed. Plain and Simple.
Pitino's covered. His contract states he cant be fired for misdeeds by assistant coaches. So unless he was directly involved he gets his buyout no matter what if he's fired.
Yeah, he seems like it's all rainbows and daisies right now...that better not be the case.

Find it, respond to it, and I will reply. Put me on ignore. I do question our fanbase. In the hopes we can eliminate the low hanging fruit that does nothing more than criticize everything UL. Let's support our team, and maybe beat them in football occasionally before we just make up crap to complain about. We have threads on here complaining about refs and every commentator that exists. Our fans can't get out of their own way bitching about everybody. If any one says anything other than UK is the best at everything, our fans *****. It gets old and embarrassing. If you think I'm a clown because I don't blindly agree with everything you say and don't blindly ***** about our rivals, then you might as well ignore me. I'm way too experienced (you say old) to deal with your type.
